Publisher's Summary

Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan knows what it’s like to be haunted by the past. For years after her daughter, Bonnie, was stolen from her, she fought for closure. When her mother, Sandra, asks Eve to find a missing friend named Beth Avery, she wants to help but is sure that Sandra is hiding something. The fact that she adamantly refuses to go to the police reinforces Eve’s suspicions that something is very wrong.

Eve learns that Beth has been locked away in a mental hospital for years, which makes it even harder to understand how she could have disappeared. As Sandra reluctantly reveals small pieces of the truth about Beth’s identity, Eve is shocked to discover that their lives are strangely entwined, and Beth’s disappearance now puts them all in grave danger.

Desperate, Eve enlists a secret weapon to pick up Beth’s trail: rogue profiler Kendra Michaels. With an uncanny ability to detect clues and solve puzzles, Kendra begins to uncover the bizarre circumstances of Beth’s escape from what should have been the safety of her hospital room. Beth is on the run, and as her mind clears - detoxing from the drugs that have held her prisoner - she begins to see the threads of a twisted plot within the powerful Avery family, threatening to destroy her and anyone else who might jeopardize the high-stakes game that is already in play.

Iris Johansen does it again. After finding Bonnie, I wondered where she was going to go with Eve and Joe and didn’t see how she could make it interesting. But she absolutely wrote another great thriller. I would definitely recommend this book. It was interesting, well written and kept the reader wondering what was going to happen next. I enjoyed meeting new characters as well as having some of her previous ones’ lives expanded. Can’t wait for her next book.

"Exactly what a fan would expect."
Would you consider the audio edition of Sleep No More to be better than the print version?

Don't know. Who would ever do both?

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really, but it was excellent.

Which character – as performed by Elisabeth Rodgers – was your favorite?

    Eve of course.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Would not make a good movie. There are other Eve Duncan books that would need to be made into a movie firs.t

    Any additional comments?

I am not sure how many male fans there are of this series, but I sure do love it. I connect with all of the characters. I have read every one in the series. I started reading/listing to books in 1996 and Eve Duncan was one of the first books I randomly pulled from a grocery store counter, so this series has become a comfort book for me.

"Iris Johansen is always a pleasure"
Where does Sleep No More rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I always enjoy an Iris Johansen book. This one is great.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eve Duncan. She never seems to loose her desire to find out the truth, no matter how she is hurting personally.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely. But it took two days to listen to.

    Any additional comments?

After discovering Kendra Michaels I had to go back and read Iris and son Roy's "Close Your Eyes." Both are stand alone books but it is interesting to go back and learn more about characters.

    "Don't waste your time"

The story line was so horrible and the narrator made the characters even more boring. After following these characters through the series of books it was really hard for me to accept that she made Eve this stupid. I didn't even finish listening to it, by part two I was hoping the killer would get all of them. It was a lot of whining, angry, people doing stupid things. Don't waste your time on this snoozer.
