In Liberty Defined, congressman and #1 New York Times bestselling author Ron Paul returns with his most provocative, comprehensive, and compelling arguments for personal freedom to date.
The term "Liberty" is so commonly used in our country that it has become a mere cliché. But do we know what it means? What it promises? How it factors into our daily lives? And most importantly, can we recognize tyranny when it is sold to us disguised as a form of liberty?
Dr. Paul writes that to believe in liberty is not to believe in any particular social and economic outcome. It is to trust in the spontaneous order that emerges when the state does not intervene in human volition and human cooperation. It permits people to work out their problems for themselves, build lives for themselves, take risks and accept responsibility for the results, and make their own decisions. It is the seed of America.
This is a comprehensive guide to Dr. Paul's position on fifty of the most important issues of our times, from Abortion to Zionism. Accessible, easy to digest, and fearless in its discussion of controversial topics, Liberty Defined sheds new light on a word that is losing its shape.

"Ron Paul for President"
I have never agreed with so many views of a politician. The way he discussed the 50 issues was easy to understand and thoroughly thought out.
"Dr Ron Paul Did It Again!"
Just do your self a favor, "read them all" Cures evil thru education. Thank you for another great book.
Back home in Waikīkī as of 2012 March 22. Visited Hilo, Hawai'i beginning 2012 January 17.
"Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues"
5 Stars for the content. These are indeed Essential Issues.
Suggestion: Savor first the audio book chapters 46, 47 and 48 (why can't they sync the audio book chapter numbers with the print book chapter numbers?) for Dr. Paul's thoughts on “Taxes”, Terrorism”, and “Torture”.
3 Stars for the reading. I have encountered several instances where Bob Craig completely misread words, (endangered for engendered comes to mind) and others were his phrasing does not deliver the full impact of Congressman Dr. Paul's intention. One would think that a professional narrator would at least 'proof hear" his own work, or get someone to do it for him. This is too important a book to be read so carelessly.

"This book will challenge your thinking"
Ron Paul always gives a very logical and challenging presentation on any given topic. I do not agree with everything he says but I am forced to agree with most of what he has written. His ideas are logical, clear and concise. They just ring true. Our nation would be in a much better condition if most Americans understood these issues and followed the economic and political ideas expressed in this book. We would be more secure, more free, and wealthier as a nation and individuals. To add to this I found the book very interesting. Great job Mr. Paul.
"Very good"
Dr Paul is one of the great political thinkers of our age. This book showed me how our government should be run. With honesty and integrity. Unfortunately its not. Dr Paul shows the Hippocratic of both parties. He has my vote in the up coming election.
"Is Ron Paul Crazy?"
Or does the rest of the country just not get it? In this book Ron Paul takes a few very basic ideas (every capable individual owns themselves and their mind, and force should only be used to protect life and liberty) and, without compromise, applies them to some issues that are constantly being argued over (and some that are not). He starts many of the issues with what the constitution has to say about them, and talks about many ideas that clog and confuse the issues.
"Thought Provoking"
One of the most thought provoking books I've read in a while. I don't agree with all of Dr. Paul's views but it is hard to argue against independence, liberty and free markets.
I'm also a big proponent of the Austrian school of economics, Mesis, Hayek. etc. as opposed to Keynes and this is a pretty good outline as to why. As a follow up if you want to dig deeper The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich von Hayek is fantastic. Also, the Ludwig von Mises Institute is a great resources with a number of free auidobooks.
"great book"
if you want to know what Ron Paul stands for, this is a great listen!!!
"Good Book"
I am a Ron Paul fan and felt that it was good for my 17 year old to hear as well. Ron does a great job at explaining his political positions.
"A book every American should read!!!!"
Congressman Paul never fails to shoot straight and tell it like it is. He should be our president right now.
