Publisher's Summary

Nothing's sexier than an man who can keep a secret.

A typical bachelor party is all about beers and beautiful women. A vampire bachelor party is no different - except the men are drinking Blissky (whiskey-flavored synthetic blood). And no one can throw a party quite like Jack, the illegitimate son of the legendary Casanova. But when the party gets out of hand and the cops show up, Jack has some explaining to do... if only he wasn't struck speechless by the beauty of Officer Lara Boucher.

Lara is sure there's something more than a bachelor party going on. What is Jack hiding? And why is he so interested in the recent disappearance of young women all over town? Her investigation uncovers more than she wants to know, especially about this modern-day Casanova. But if she's ever to make detective, she'll need to expose all his secrets... if only her heart wasn't on the line.

    "Secret Life ????"

This wasn't one of my favorites in the series. It may be because Jack wasn't one of the interesting characters in this series for me. I didn't feel he was interesting enough to have a book of his own. The cop aspect was good but the story still falls flat. The narration wasn't the best. I actually found her character interesting until she falls to fast and to hard for Jack. It would have been nice to keep her a little more edgy.

"If you have read one in this series you have read"
Would you consider the audio edition of Secret Life of a Vampire to be better than the print version?

Because this series became so bland that one book was just like another. I think I would have given up on them if I had to read it myself

Would you recommend Secret Life of a Vampire to your friends? Why or why not?

    No

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Stupid love sick humans

    Any additional comments?

The first 2 books in this series, I was so excited. I thought I had found another author and series to get my teeth into, but these books are obviously meant to be read t intervals. Read together the plot is exactly the same, just with different characters.

    "Great Story, Awful Narration."

The narrators for a minority of these books leave something to be desired. The premise of the story was fantastic, the son of Casanova--come on what a great idea. However, the narrator for this particular book was just terrible. I think the people narrating a series should really listen to the prior books to give a good shot at trying to keep up with the previous accents. Otherwise, don't bother, because it ruins the full picture that those following the series has in their head. I found myself cringing at some points because the narrator was just THAT bad.

    "Secret..."
Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change the person reading the book. She lacked and I was disappointed. I own the book on my eReader (the whole series) and I think reading it was way better. The accent wasn't good and some of the other characters sounded the same.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Secret Life of a Vampire?

    Nothing comes to mind.

What three words best describe Jennifer Bradshaw’s performance?

    Blah, blah, blah

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, but I wouldn't want Jennifer to do any voice overs.

    Any additional comments?

I recommend reading this book verses listening it. However I'm keeping the audio version anyway because I like the series.

    "RACIST STEREOTYPES!"
What disappointed you about Secret Life of a Vampire?

Nearly everything out of the black character's mouth was from a racist stereotype.

Has Secret Life of a Vampire turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No

Would you listen to another book narrated by Jennifer Bradshaw?

    Yes

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Secret Life of a Vampire?

Every scene with racist "black" dialogue

    Any additional comments?

There is a pattern of racist stereotypes from this author. In addition to the sickening black female character in this book there is also Phineas McKinney (black drug dealing Vampire from Be Still My Vampire Heart.
