"Engrossing!"
This book was very exciting! Never a dull moment and plenty of battles. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the narrator. His voice was somewhat droning and irritating. His voice did not vary from a monotone.

"Amazballs"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?Totally. This sh*t was cliff hanger after cliff hanger. One of the best Sci-Fi stories ever written.
What other book might you compare The Gods of Mars to and why?I'm not sure you can.
Have you listened to any of William Dufris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?I have not, but it was good.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?The end of the book. The way they left you hanging was insane.
Any additional comments?This might be one of the best books I've ever read.

"Great book, terrible performance"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?No. The voiceover actor was terrible. He made the main character sound dumb. It really took away from the barsoom series. I stopped listening and returned back to reading the book because of this. This was my first and last experience with and audible book. I can't believe the low quality of this product.

"Not as much fun as John Carter"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?It was ok. It felt very dated.
Would you be willing to try another book from Edgar Rice Burroughs? Why or why not?I'm not in a rush. He didn't do much with the character of John Carter in this book.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?I didn't particularly like his voice.
Did The Gods of Mars inspire you to do anything?no.
Any additional comments?I loved the movie and the movie novelization was good. But the style of these books is very out of date and it makes the characters feel a bit wooden.

"Terrible Reading"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?If William Dufris had just used his natural voice for John Carter. His false southern accent was too distracting to allow me to follow the reading. I had to download another version. So far, Scott Brick is the premier reader of the John Carter series. I wish Brick had read all the ERB works.
What did you like best about this story?The writing is top-notch and typical ERB.

"I really enjoyed the Princess of Mars"
Is there anything you would change about this book?This followup had a different narrator then Scott Brick who i hate to say was vastly inferior. I don't know if it was his narration or the general tone that changed from book one to book 2 but the drop-off was the difference between great and mediocre. I am going to give book 3 a try now which has a different narrator yet.

Any additional comments?The style and science of this book were fantastic. It's amazing all of these concepts he arrived at when he did. Mr. Burroughs was truly crafting something beautiful and glorious from a concept that hadn't previously existed.

"still a good line of books."

"Another excellent installment of a classic series."
Would you listen to The Gods of Mars again? Why?It forms the basis of the saga. This episode introduces so many new characters and races that it is essential to the entire story on whole.
What other book might you compare The Gods of Mars to and why?I can't compare this one to any others that I've listened to recently.
