When one of China's legendary cultural treasures is stolen, Lianne Blakely, a mysterious and beautiful jade expert, is accused of the theft. It's Kyle's job to get to the bottom of what could be a potential disaster for the Donovans as well as Lianne. But Kyle finds himself irresistibly drawn to the exotic beauty and captivated by her fierce claim of innocence.
Soon they are in dangerous pursuit of the real thief, drawn deeper into the perils of spiraling power plays, and linked by a passion as powerful as the lore of the ancient culture and as enduring as the splendor of the treasured jade.
Listen to another Donovan gem.

mainly read romances and books for a book club that take me all over the map.
"An Older Series that stands the test of time"
I found the characters to be compelling and well rounded.
The discussions of the intricacies of Jade and the role it played in culture is an interesting interchange but nothing beats the scene wheere the hero and heroine first meet at a gem exhibition.
Enjoyed how the reader brings the characters to life helping me to see them and their interactions in my minds eye.
This is book two of the Donovan series. You'll want to listen to them all.
"Lowell abriged her own book..."
The basic storyline itself is fine - pretty standard for Elizabeth Lowell. Where this book went wrong for me was in the editing. It skips around and seems like parts are missing. It is so bad that I actually compared this to the text version of the book - convinced that the audio version I downloaded must be the abriged version of the book. But nope...it was written this way.
"Terrible editing"
The Audible version of this is messed up so much that the plot is impossible to follow. I checked out this audiobook from the library and I liked it. The story was not all jumbled up. Audible needs to do some work on their version.
