"There is zombie fiction and then there is crawl-out-of-the-grave-and-drag-you-to-hell zombie fiction. Day by Day Armageddon is hands down the best zombie book I have ever read. Dawn of the Dead meets 28 Days Later doesn't even come close to describing how fantastic this thriller is. It is so real, so terrifying, and so well written that I slept with not one, but two loaded Glocks under my pillow for weeks afterwards. J. L. Bourne is the new king of hardcore zombie action!" (Brad Thor, New York Times #1 best-selling author)
"Great book! More more more!!"
After reading WWZ, plague of the dead, the strain, the cell, I was looking forward to this book. Really loved it but wish it was a little longer.
"Freakin' AWESOME!"
I've listened to a ton of audiobooks while I commute, and am a big fan of the zombie apocalypse genre. I've never written a review before, but this book was so great that I just had to write one. This book is a masterpiece. Also, the second book is probably better than the first in my opinion. I started listening to this story and was so consumed by the story that I didn't want to leave the car. I got my wife to start reading it, and even though she is skeptical about this genre, she was absolutely consumed by it as well. BUY IT!
"A new twist to a great tale."
JL Bourne presents us with a realistic zombie tale (if there can be such thing as a realistic zombie tale) told from a unique perspective; excerpts from a survivors diary. This is such a fresh twist to the standard narrative coupled with a excellent edge-of-your-seat zombie story.
"Intense"
Excellent book, intense, kept me on the edge, was hooked from the first minute. All I have to say - What a rush! is the first time I listen to a zombie book, and I must say it did not let me down, as a matter of fact I was not able to put it down. Excellent book, and narration.
"J L Bourne serves up a d*** good zombie story!"
Bourne’s series is very good! His ideas for the story…both good and original. Zombie fan?...these books will not disappoint! Recommended.
"Loved It!"
A great listen! This is a day by day account of the end of the world where the dead live at the expense of the living. The author had me on the edge of my seat. The narrator made the story real. Worth the buy if you are into the horror/living dead genre. Would love to see alot more by this author.
"High standard for all zombie novels"
This series (well the first two books) places among my top 5 must read Zombie books. Non stop action, logical, realistic, and very frightening. Must read for doomsdayers, die hard zombie fans, and survivalist.
J.A. Recht series (Thunder and Ashes, Plague of the Dead, and the upcoming The Survivors),
Great performance
Yes...fear and a sense of wanting to build a bunker in my back yard!
"Best Written Zombie Fiction Ever"
DbDA is an outstanding read for anyone who enjoys zombie or end of the world scenarios. I perfer this over WWZ just bc of the feeling of despair you get and the amount of detail the main character puts into his journal. Its written as a journal and the narrator does a great job of reading it. Wow just Wow plus the squeal hits later this year.
"Brilliant!"
The adventure grabs you from the first page as you follow along one soldiers experience of the end of the world. Great characters, great action, well paced plot, and lots of fun! You can't go wrong.
"Great Great Zombie/End of the World Audio Book!!"
I bought "Under the Dome" thinking it was another trippy Stephen King book. But little did I know that I opened pandora's box with End of the World type books. I just love that book and then I bought "One Second After". And then that lead me to "Day by Day Armageddon". When I was listening to this book I flew thru it. The concept of Zombies and End of the World all in one book was a score for me. And the way it was written as a journal was just awesome and I think that is what kept the book so simple yet wanting to know what happens the next day. As week speak I am downloading the 2nd book "Beyond Exile" and I sure my reviews will be similar! I do recommend buying this audiobook!
