Soren's beloved mentor, Ezylryb, is finally back at the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. But all is not well. There's a war between good and evil in the owl kingdom. On one side is a group led by Soren's fearsome brother, Kludd, who wears a terrifying metal mask to cover his battle-scarred face. On the other side are the owls of the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, who must fight to protect their legendary tree from Kludd's attacks.     "Fun book, but...that singing!!"
    Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

    My 8-year old loves this series, and I think it's a good family listen. But the singing is gawdawful. Fortunately the later books have much less of it.


    What didn’t you like about Pamela Garelick’s performance?

    The singing. It could have been much improved if they had a composer actually score the songs instead of having her fake her way through. Not an appealing, memorable tune in the whole series. That might have made her voice tolerable.


    Do you think Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Book Four needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    My daughter would love to listen to a Book Five.

    "The Guardian Series is Excellent!"

    My eight-year old and I listened to the first eight Guardians of Ga'Hoole books and enjoyed them all immensely. Being a bird lover, these tales are especially fun and for weeks on end, our world became the world of the Guardians. Pamela Garelick's narration is very good; only her voice for Gyflie was a bit annoying (the voice was very high) though I got used to it. Unfortunately, the next seven books have not yet been recorded so we're reading them ourselves!
