"A remarkable book on childhood recollections of the Second World War." (Mail on Sunday)
"Excellent Personal Perspectives"
This book was very interesting to listen to because it let the reader get a feel for the war experience from the down to earth perspectives of ordinary citizens caught in the fray. For those of us who have only seen the battles on History Channel, it made it all seem more real. There is a lot to be learned from the experiences of others. I admire the attitude and perspective of those she interviewed. I would like to know more.
