"Good characterization and historically accurate; it remains both exciting and fun. This audio presentation has a full cast and music score, with lots of sound effects, engaging your attention and imagination. Battle Road brings history to life for the listener." (All-Star Review)
"Paul Revere's Midnight Ride Rocks"
I must admit that I am addicted to the historical dramas produced by the Colonial Radio. I believe that this is the first program that they produced, and it is the first program that we ever listened to. We stumbled upon it at the suggestion of the Park Rangers at the Battle Road National Historical Park located in Concord Massachusetts. We were taking the tour and the guide highly recommended this show due to its accuracy and ability to tell the true story of the battles of Concord and Lexington (including Paul Revere?s midnight ride). We bought it at the park museum store, and listened to it as we drove around the park, and have come to really enjoy how it brings history to life. Since then, we have listened to many other Colonial Radio history programs. While Battle road is one of their early works (less sophisticated music and use of sound effects), it does tell a really great story. It is fun and seems to be over very quickly, like a good movie. I think you will enjoy this entertaining radio drama. It is good for children and adults. This review was written on April 19th, the same day that the actual battle was fought!
