"Hard-hitting and amazing"
What made the experience of listening to The Pilgrimage the most enjoyable?The narrator's voice was spot on for such a book. It really captured the confusion, desperation and "lost" of that Paulo was experiencing throughout the events, and it instantly starts with such emotion which flows through the entire book. Every time you stop to listen to it, bang, you're right back into the world where you know nothing and are questioning everything, purely because of the superb narration.
What other book might you compare The Pilgrimage to and why?It's like the Alchemist, but head on full on hard hitting lessons - lessons that make you cringe at times, but worth it.
Which scene was your favorite?All of it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?It definitely made me uneasy at times... and laugh a few times.

"Provoking"
Would you listen to The Pilgrimage again? Why?No doubt to hear messages throughout that I was too absorbed to hear the first time
What did you like best about this story?There wasnt a "best" it was a story you wanted to learn from, and this meant listening to the end

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?The "Journey" not the "Gym" (where we beat ourselves up)

"A profound journey"
Coelho is not an "easy" writer to absorb, so I am taking this listening in small doses. There are many layers of understanding that he deals with, and his descriptions of them are amazing.

"Ok Coelho"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?I would definitely reccomend this book to a friend, interesting reading. A decent Coelho book.
What aspect of Sean Runnette’s performance would you have changed?A decent performance. I do not agree with the others on this site that his performance is irritating. It does not ruin the story at all, it just takes a little getting use too, an I'd preferred that his way of reading was a little less chanting.

"Annoying and boring"
There could have easily been much better narrator choices. The narrator does not miss an opportunity to show his linguistic talent which have in many times got me more annoyed than immersed into the story.
The story is terribly breachy. It is a good fit for at a cathedral.
The story lacks suspense and the plot revolves around the individual "Paulo". The scenes move serially from one part to the next. before the first half of the story finishes, you can almost anticipate what will happen next. "interesting read"
At first I found the narrator's voice annoying like he was preaching or something, not like he was "talking", ... but eventually you just get used to it. The book is, of course a wonderful read, and really wonder can all of that have happened to one guy on the road??? I read the Alchemist, and this is similar metaphysical renderings and teachings. I enjoyed it and would recommend it
