"Solid, entertaining listen"
Really a compelling listen. Tense, exciting writing, hard to put down. Author's choice of characters was unique and a bit unexpected, but managed to tie things together at the end. Epilogue was somewhat of a letdown... the huge mystery was left unrevealed, but I understand there are sequels in the works.
Narration was a bit gruff, but it worked for most of the characters.
"Intense"
Really a compelling listen, very tense, hard to put down. Author's choice of characters was unique and he did a very good job making you think that more than one person was narrating the story. Epilogue was somewhat of a letdown... the huge mystery was left unrevealed and a few loose ends, unless there is a sequel...
"Fast Moving and Insightful"
The reality of war as abomination and the need to dehumanize the other in order to make outright war on him comes across clearly. The bigotry exposed here is breathtaking and not far from accurate in some cases that exist today. Those who flinch at the description of MOBIC attitudes and inclinations may either be unwilling to consider the potential of some who they may know or maybe they would rather the light of day not be shinned on that potential? Overall this is a good listen. Characters are well developed and the story moves along briskly. I would highly recommend it.
"Language in book is a bit over the top."
An interesting story line. The author has a limited vocabulary for expressing the emotions of his characters, so every other sentence in the book uses the "F" word in some form or other. If he could get away from that it would be a good read. I've been in the military and have never heard as many curse words out of anyone as he uses in this book.
Love audio books , been listen for about 12 years and over 200 adleast.( truck driver).
"Truely without warning!"
The charactor and acton had depth but the story jump toward the end, There seem to be parts missing or edited out. The last few chapters jump in time and the end was so abrupt it was disappointing.
"This is Phenomenal Reading!"
This is a great read! It makes you think about what would happen if the US was struck by a major catastrophe.
"not what I expected but very good!"
A really fun, maybe not fun but interesting book. It sucks you in and has some neat twists to it. I'm glad the whole trilogy is out - don't want to wait months to keep moving with the story.
Come on 20th, where is that new credit ...
