Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?Kizzy could not attend the state spelling bee even though she won the school bee because there were no hotels that allowed black people (an excuse) so the white, second-place winner got to attend instead.
Any additional comments?Depicts the era and the setting without preachin' to the reader. Kizzy's love of her dog is relatable by many boys and girls. Very likable protagonist.
