    "A great introduction to Jeeves"

This was my first introduction to Wodehouse and Jeeves. It was so funny that I am now downloading more. Great narration and excellent stories. One of my favorites from Audible!

    "Very Funny!"

Wonderfully entertaining stories and excellent reading by Martin Jarvis, who creates convincingly different characters. These stories are a great way to pass some time.

    "Funny and Well Read"

Martin Jarvis does an excellent job portraying the many characters of this charming and funny book. Very entertaining and enjoyable, especially if you're familiar with Stephen Fry's portrayal of Jeeves on BBC/PBS. The stories take place on "both sides of the pond" and will leave you chuckling. I enjoy listening to Wodehouse so much more than reading him - I sometimes miss the British humor on the written page, but Jarvis had me laughing out loud. Couldn't wait to get back to it each time I had to pause. A breath of fresh air.

    "Entertaining"

An enjoyable listen. If you can relate to the writing style common to pulp fiction at the turn of the century (19th to 20th that is), and if you have a minimal tolerance for the humor of British stodginess, you'll likely love this book. Not being familiar with Wodehouse, I had naively assumed this book would be a "classic literature" type, and was all set for something in the line of Thomas Hardy or Dickens---so this was a surprise. Having admitted such, I must add that it was a most enjoyable surprise, and a nice break from the list of more serious works I've been undertaking. The reading was excellent.

    "Terrific series"

This was my first introduction to Jeeves and Bertie Wooster and I was extremely pleased. They are a humorous pair with Jeeves in the role of straightman and Bertie as the one who needs bailing out frequently. I enjoyed Martin Jarvis portrayal of both characters and found the recording well made. An excellent place to start if you want to try a novel by PG Wodehouse!

Jeeves is great when the world has become a bit too much to take and you need to laugh a bit.

    "Martin Jarvis is a genius"

Wodehouse is funny enough in print, but Jarvis is absolutely hysterical. This is as great an audiobook reading as I've ever heard.

    "Wonderful Fun!"

Only a handful of books have made me laugh out loud, and Jeeves is right up there with the Vicar of Wakefield, Diary Of A Nobody, and Portney's Complaint for page after page of wry and clever wit. Wodehouse takes the reader on a lighthearted journey through the very British lives of Bernie and his omniscient man-servant Jeeves. Biting satires of proper society and rollicking tales of wacky family and fussy fiancees make for page-turning fun.

(I almost never comment on narrators, but this one did a superb job with the voices! "Yaaaeessss....")

    "Absolutely hilarious, Don't ya know?"
Where does Carry On, Jeeves rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely one of my favourites, I've listened to each story at least twice.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bertie AND Jeeves, can't have one without the other.

    Any additional comments?

Jarvis is the best narrator I have heard thus far. I had trouble switching to Hugh Laurie and Steven Fry's interpretation after hearing Jarvis, but now I love them both. I love that Jarvis gives Bertie an older yet still immature and boyish character. He switches between characters so smoothly you can't believe it's him narrating on his own!
