"[A] suspenseful, glamorous story of love, blackmail, and magic." (Kirkus Reviews)
"Reader Burr displays a variety of intonations and accents, from kids to little ladies and old men, from Cajuns to New Yorkers and Mexicans." (AudioFile)
Audio is better for me because it allows me to listen to books while doing other things around the house. If someone couldn't get this book in Audio, then I'm sure the book version would be just as good.
I wouldn't compare this book to any other. This book was amazing.
I loved the part in the book when Luke sees his son for the first time. My heart just melted. It was beautifully done.
This has to be one of my top 3 books ever. I absolutely loved this book and will read it again in the future. I would recommend it to anyone. It was perfect.
Loved this book! It's full of love and magic. I absolutely enjoyed the cat & mouse games between the characters. All the characters were wonderfully written in the story.
Wonderful and great story. It has everything in it. Magic, suspense, romance, excitement. I just loved it!!!
I read so I can write
When Nora Roberts writes a great book she writes a great book. The characters and the story worked together all the way to a fantastic ending. It's books like this one that keeps me solidly prepared to buy what she writes.
Audio-fiction ADDICT !
NR is such a talent author! She had such multiple depths to her stories, she integrates romance, suspense, family and human relations, history and much more! You end up listening to a well constructed experience brought to perfection by the excellent narration of SB. Well done both! I absolutely loved it! All NR audiobooks are currently in my library waiting for be listened to ;) I am excited to go over her books as I know I will not be disappointed!
Should have read this one. Not sure if it was the narrator reading too fast or the sound editor botching it, but the end result was a speed read that was choppy and unnatural. Very distracting.
Yes this is an old book and the recording is really bad, but what a great story. Classic Nora Roberts with characters that stay in your mind, I am sure I will listen to this one again one day. Audible should consider re-recording as I had to listen at half speed to keep it from sounding like chipmunks. But it was just what I was in the mood for!
