As more bodies turn up, each with the same defining scars, Eve is frantic for answers. Against her instincts, she accepts help from a psychic who offers one vision after another - each with shockingly accurate details of the murders. And when partner and friend Peabody is badly injured after escaping an attack, the stakes are raised. Are the eyes a symbol? A twisted religious ritual? A souvenir?
With help from her husband, Roarke, Dallas must uncover the killer's motivation before another vision becomes another nightmare.
Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

"The book is a sassy, smart-alecky read, possessing the warm characterizations and witty dialogue that have earned Robb/Roberts her huge and loyal readership." (Publishers Weekly)
"Interesting Ending"
In this JD Robb mystery, Dallas and Peabody meet up with a psychic and a bodybuilder, which oddly enough makes for a pretty good mystery. Pay attention as you listen because Robb uses foreshadowing extremely well in this book. It's the best she's ever used that technique. The ending might be a surprise to readers. And, as always, Robb advances the personal lives of her characters just a little bit more. Although reading the series in order makes it a bit more enjoyable, Robb continues to do a nice job of filling in a new reader without using a lot of filler. It doesn't distract a tried and true reader, yet lets a new reader in on the past. Susan Erickson has also seemed to return 100% to the original voices of the characters, which is a welcome relief to the seasoned Robb listener.

"If you have followed the series 1 of the best"
I haven't really commented on J.D. Rob (Nora Roberts) "In Death" series this one is book 19. At this point you have gotten to know and get attached to many of the characters. Serial Killers are at best a horror that can turn anyone's stomach. In this story there are twists and an ending that will surprise, I really didn't see it coming. Maybe I was too caught up in the story. But I enjoyed this book in the series very much.
If you have enjoyed this series I recommend this one highly
"I do the job!"
That in itself is enough for her fans. Additionally this audio production with its well balanced and effective use of minor audio effects and talented narration pulls listeners in brings you center stage. The characters take form and come to life in your mind as they interact. Sure Dallas is the lead but each member of her cast will remind you of someone. Warning: This story is not for the faint of heart. Women will get this one. But all listeners will walk away cheering fist held high proclaiming this Lt. as their cop.
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
"Couldn't stop listening..."
I've purchased all but 3 of the "In Death" series, and this book has been the BEST... VERY riveting..Susan Olsen does a superb job narrating and KUDOS to J. D. Robb for keeping us in suspence after Peabody's "accident". I am eagerly awaiting my next download...
"Visions in Death"
This is the 19th book in the "In Death" series, I have listened to them all. Everyone of them have been great. This one lives up to the high standers that I have for this series. Someone is killing women in New York Parks posing them and taking out their eyes. Dallas and her team are on the case to find the killer. Dallas is having trouble with the case, when Celina Sanchez comes in saying that she saw what happened. Celina is a psychic, saying that she saw what happen in a dream. Dallas doesn't believe in psychics but she will use all the help she can get.
J.D. Robb has done it again with this book, she has a way of putting twist and turns in a story line that you are not expecting. Susan Ericksen did a wonderful job with the narration of this book. Susan Ericksen give each character a voice, but she seems to give them more then just that. You are able to hear the frustration in Dallas voice what she is mad. You can almost since the verve's of Peabody when she is asked questions by Dallas on the crime scenes. Over all this book is great and well wroth the 11 hours of listening time.
"ESP & visions"
It had a very different ending, not the usual J.D.Robb ending, this made it a much better book
the last 4 chapters were the best she had to offer I would listen to it again
OK job, I've heard better but then again I've heard worse
I will keep buying J.D.Robb books
"Excellent listen, great story"
I think the audio book and print book are equalling great. This is one of the best books in the In Death series, in the top 5 of the series. But I always enjoy listening to Susan Ericksen's reading of these books.
Ignoring the futuristic setting, the book reminds me some of the Women's Murder Club series with the relationships between the friends as a backdrop to murder.
I've have listened to several of Susan Ericksen's performances and I thoroughly enjoy her reading with the various accents and inflections. This book is no exception, with the added advantage that this story is one of the better ones.
I can imagine listening to this book in one sitting but I doubt I will ever have the luxury of such time.
I enjoy the JD Robb's In Death books and part of the reason is my enjoyment of Susan Ericksen's performance.

"Memories and Visions"
Yes. It's a really good murder mystery, one of the best in this series.
Peabody's story....and the climax where the murderer was caught and what they found.
She is excellent in her narration...all the voices--especially the Irish brogue of Roarke and the bar owner named O'Hara.
Yes. Made me cry when Eve told Delia her story....then when Delia had her bad day, tears came to my eyes again.
No.
