Penny really needs this opportunity, but she doesn't need the distraction of working with her ex. She's sworn off romance; she's even having a baby on her own. But before she knows it, the heat is on, and the attraction between her and Cal moves from a low simmer to a full boil.
The rest should be easy as pie, but a secret from Dessert Cal's past could spoil everything. Maybe it's true that too many cooks spoil the broth, but then, maybe two are enough to make it irresistible.

"When you think of passion, drama and heartwarming stories, think Susan Mallery." (Romantic Times)
"A wonderful cast of characters, from the truly evil family matriarch to the argumentative, stubborn, but close-knit Buchanan siblings. Glimpses into the everyday workings of a restaurant, from buying produce to selecting wines, add to the enjoyment." (Booklist)
"Delicious: not to my taste"
The author repeats information every few chapters. With very nearly the same words. The characters are scene driven and so act and react in...unexpected...ways. She handles the less socially acceptable characters without smarm or condescension, which I found nice and saves the book from being pretty much a total loss for me. Part of my dismay with many of Ms Mallery's books is that her 'strong female characters' often act without dignity or charm or strength and this book is not an exception.
The narrator is capable and it was only occasionally that I had to stop and try to figure out which character spoke a particular line because the 'voice' didn't match previous lines by said character.
This is one of those authors for whom I will occasionally override my memories and good sense and purchase; general results ensure that I do not buy her again for a couple of years. I did enjoy the print version of Already Home that I found on the library shelf, which prompted the purchase of Delicious.
"DELICIOUS"
I loved this book, her writing is very similar to Susan Elizabeth Phillips which I love. I downloaded the other 3 books in the series and looking foward to a good listen. I wish they would add more downloads from this author, I made the request. I hope to find more funny, romantic books.

"cute, sweet"
The is my first Susan Mallory book and I liked it. I read the reviews and learned this is the first book in a series of 4 so I plan to listen to them in order. The characters are good and I look forward to hearing about how the lives of the other brothers and sister turn out. Gloria is a human nightmare and I hope at some point she softens. This is a typical romance book but who doesn't like happy endings!
"Entertaining"
This is an entertaininng listen. Nothing deep or exciting. Just ok. Terese Plummer's narration added to the book.
"Delicious"
No real plot, need narrator who can correctly pronounce names of cities (Spokane) and "sex scenes" are straight out of a paperback romance novel. Do not waste a credit on this one.
"Without Content"
I picked out this book because I thought it would be a fun, easy read. I like chick lit and I thought the chef theme would be a neat backdrop. There's not enough going on inside this book but the romance, which is totally predictable, and a few subplots. I could not finish it. Soooo boring to listen to the characters talk to one another about the same plot lines. It was an empty book that actually motivated me to review it which I do not normally do because I could have used my audible credits on so many more deserving books.
"Delectable Series"
This is the first of the 3 (4th due out soon) Buchanan Series. It is fun, sexy, intriguing and informative (I had no idea what went on before receiving my delectable meals at fine dining establishments), entertaining and warming. I love all three (so far) of these gems but be certain to read them in order. I read them out of sequence and had to re-listen to one of them to pick up on several past characters that were glanced over in later books. Listen and enjoy!
"Great Start to a Great Series!"
Wow, I was so happy to see this title, as I've purchased the others in the series. I had knowledge of Cal and Penny's relationship via the other books, but not the intimate details. So, listening to this audio, filled in lots of blanks. The book was good, but the series definitely gets better with Irresistible and Sizzling.
I definitely recommend this title, as you will get hooked on the Buchanans! Enjoy.
"Harlequin by accident"
This was my first HARLEQUIN not as bad as I feared...a good commuter book...you could miss parts and still get the story
