Artemis is in Berlin preparing to steal a famously well-guarded painting from a German bank. Little does he know that his every move is being watched by his cunning old rival, Opal Koboi. The evil pixie has spent the last year in a self-induced coma, plotting her revenge on all those who foiled her attempt to destroy the LEPrecon fairy police. And Artemis is at the top of her list. In a brilliant move, Opal escapes by cloning herself and masquerading as a human in order to carry out her schemes. Her first act is to lure Captain Holly Short and Commander Root into a deadly trap. Her next step is to destroy Artemis by turning his own genius against him.
Once again, it's up to Artemis Fowl to stop the human and fairy worlds from colliding. Only this time, Artemis faces an enemy who may have finally outsmarted him.

"I Love Fairy Technology!!"
I absolutely love this series, and this book is no exception. If you have enjoyed the previous 3 books in the collection, this one is a guarantee! Eoin Colfer has a magical ability to describe the human and fairy technology and make me feel as if I understand and could use it myself! I wish he could have been my science teacher!
Not read any of the Artemis Fowl collection yet? I recommend you do. The series will entertain children and adults. But as great as this book is, you will want to wait and read them in order. This book, more than any of the others, will require previous Artemis Fowl reading. I would tell you more about the book itself, but I don't want to ruin anything for you. And if you have a child that hasn't found reading enjoyable yet, your child hasn't read (or heard) Artemis Fowl.
Stop thinking about it! This is a great book. You WILL enjoy it.
"Another Great Book"
As a mother of very young children, I'm always on the hunt for books that interest me, yet are kid friendly. (no cussing, vulgarity, etc) The Artemis Fowl books are wonderful with great narration. You won't be disappointed.
"great, yet again"
Yet another excellent book int he Artemis Fowl series. This book has a bit of an open end that wraps things up just enough for us not to feel cheated, but makes it clear that there's more to come in the series. A bit fewer plot twists than in the other AF novels, but still a delight to read/listen to. Excellent reading, too.
"One of the best books I've read in a long time!"
I would recommend this book for anyone 11 years old or older.
"Very Good"
I love all the Artemis Fowl books and this one did not disappoint. The author has a great talent for enduring the reader to each of the characters. I would highly recommend this series, not only for kids, but for adults as well!
"Truffles, Truffles, Truffles"
A wonderful story, with a great performance by Parker. I don't get tired of either this book or this series. This is a mainstay on my iPod.
"Another great Fowl novel"
I love the Artemis Fowl series. Fun stories, masterfully read. Indeed, I can't think of another narrator I've enjoyed more -- he does a myriad of voices fantastically well.
In this book we see the return of Opal Kobay, whom Artemis and Holly and friends must defeat once again. Some sad bits too -- but I can't share spoilers!
"Pixie Praise"
Another thrill ride through the center of the earth!
"Highly Entertaining !!"
After finishing the Harry Potter audiobook series (with the fantastic narration by Jim Dale), I was hoping to find anything as similarly engaging. While this series is not as deep or complex, its certainly fun, exciting and highly entertaining. The narration by Nathaniel Parker is outstanding. I was hooked into Mr. Colfer’s world and felt a pang when the 5th audiobook ended. However, unlike the HP series, there is more still more Artemis Fowl to come, and I greatly look forward to the forthcoming 6th installment!
