"Lovely Story"
Rita Mae Brown is one of my favorite authors. She weaves her words into wonderful stories that keep the reader/listener begging for more.
That being said, though, I think the use of a professional voice artist may have served the book at bit better. Ms. Brown's voice and inflection sometimes are a bit jarring or stilted. Maybe this was the first time Ms. Brown has recorded one of her novels?5 of 5 people found this review helpful -

"Read, do not listen, to this book"
This otherwise charming novel was totally ruined in the reading/listening. An avid mystery listener, I had to fight my way through Hunt Ball because the reader (the author) read the book in a monatone, paused at all the wrong places, and stumbled through every paragraph and chapter. What a disappointment. This book was so difficult to listen to it was almost painful. Strongly suggest that listeners stay away from this book.

"Distracting Narration"
This may be a good book; however, the narration was so bad that I was constantly distracted from the story. I wanted to grab the narrator and yell "quit pausing in all the wrong places!" It was the worst book I have ever read due to the poor narration.
