Meet Vinh Murphy, part African American, part Vietnamese, with just enough Irish thrown in to make things confusing for anyone looking for a guy named Murphy.
Since an assignment in which his wife, Angelina, was fatally shot, Murphy has been unemployed, battling booze and blackouts, and bumming it from shelter to shelter. He eventually reaches out to Hannah Whitfield, an old friend and his saving grace.
Meanwhile, the FBI is looking for a guy named Murphy in connection with the murder of Tim Ebersole, a Neo-Nazi leader whose group - the Freedom Network - may be connected to Angelina's death.
As Murphy fights for his freedom and for his will to live, Hannah fights for justice, and for the man she loves.

"Into the Fire"
Brockman's books just keep getting better! It is nice to read a series and get to know everyone. I was thrilled while listening to this story. In the future I am going to buy the audible first.
Great story
"Great reading of a pretty good book"
This isn't really all that interesting as a suspense novel, although I suppose it's good as a romance. The writing is good, and much of the character development is above par. The pacing, however, is great, which makes up for an average plot. The ending is far too neat and tidy, and it feels like a set up for her next book.
What I especially liked was the reading. While the narrators sometimes switch at odd moments, they're both excellent and kept the story interesting.
"Loved It, Loved It, Loved It"
I have now read 75% of Suzanne Brockman's books and I have loved (not liked) every one of them. I recently had surgery and was off for awhile. I could not do much but I did do a lot of reading(audiobooks). I can't wait to get through the other 25% of her books. Thanks for such fun, sexy books.
"WOW!!"
They just keep getting better and better!!! I absolutlely love this series! I love the mix of the characters, the new ones, the old ones mingling back in, even the the eye opening tear jerking Jules and Robin. Into the Fire I could not stop. I had my Ipod on almost 24/7 until the book was complete. The title fits the book! Intense heat from the plot, characters and romance!! I can't wait for the next listen! Please.. don't change anything!
"too many characters"
by the time i listened to this book i did not remember that it was part of a series. i had not read any other books in the series. i found it difficult to keep all the many characters personal and romantic relationships straight. i kept asking myself "why did you buy this book?" the ending left the most interesting (to me) relationship hanging. after finishing the story, i reread the review and find the review to promise a better story than was delivered. that it is a series is perhaps why i felt left hanging as to the outcome of the "most interesting" relationship.
"Simply the Best of the Best ! ! !"
The story is really great. I love all the characters. I really like the subplot of Izzy Zannella and Eden Gillman -- in one of her future books I hope she brings back Izzy and Eden.
I am looking forward to the next book. The male narrator did a great job reading. I LOVE his clear and expressive voice. Every emotion the writer tried to conveyed, the male narrator delivered.
"A very riveting book."
The latest Troubleshooters book. Once again it's non-stop action, lots of injuries lots of action and romance... I found it to be a very riveting book.
"best in the series"
really enjoyed this one. Readers are great and really add so much to the book and experience of listening.
Rootin' Tootin'
"ANOTHER GREAT READ!!!!"
I've read all of Ms. Brockmann's books and listened to many. This is one of her best! This book has many twists and is very suspenseful. Vinh and Hannah's story is only one part of the book. You find out what is happening with other characters from her past books as well as being set up for future stories. I only wish "the powers that be" would find a female voice as good as the male voice. The male voice is MUCH MORE expressive and increases the tension and suspense. I will definitely listen to this one again.
