Publisher's Summary

Hettie is an orphan, taken in by Ellie Pride and her husband to their Preston home. But she has never felt she truly belonged. Hettie has a special gift, a beautiful singing voice, and, on the cusp of womanhood, she makes a choice that will alter the course of her life. Amid the bright lights of Liverpool, she will follow her dreams. But once there, the only way to survive is working in the kitchens of a restaurant. Until, by chance, she is heard singing by the owner.

    "Hetty of Hope Street"

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and well read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a satisfying family story. I hope Audible will add more novels by Annie Groves.

Love a great book that stays with you long after you've finished it.

    Story
    "Weak & repetitive"

I look for unabridged audiobooks knowing there will be some repitition. However, I was left wondering if I had hit the replay button, there was so much of the same over and over. The story itself is weak with no surprises. A bit boring but overall not entirely bad. It might be for you if you are busy while listening and purchase it on sale.
