Following the structure of his 1.2 million-copy-selling Celebration of Discipline, Prayer explores three spiritual "movements" of prayer: inward, upward, and outward. Within each movement he looks at seven different types of prayer, for a total exploration of 21 separate forms of prayer.
Coming to prayer is like coming home, Foster says: "Nothing feels more right, more like what we are created to be and to do." This accessible, rich, and reliable guide shows how each of the various forms of prayer can move us inward into personal transformation, upward toward intimacy with God, and outward to minister to others.

"Great Introduction to Prayer"
This was a great introduction to prayer. I have been reading through a bunch of books on prayer for a personal research project and this was the best introduction to methods on prayer that I have found. It is full of actual experience in prayer and not just theory. It took me a little while to get through it because I would have to stop and think about what he was writing for a while and come back to it. Highly recommend
"Lots of info"
I have listened to this audio book twice. There is so much information I tended to get lost. Maybe I'll get a notepad on the 3rd time.
