In a land where magic has been forgotten but peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest is simmering. Three kingdoms grapple for power - brutally transforming their subjects' lives in the process. Amidst betrayals, bargains, and battles, four young people find their fates forever intertwined:
Cleo: A princess raised in luxury must embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of a magic long thought extinct.
Jonas: Enraged at injustice, a rebel lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country impoverished - and finds himself the leader of a people's revolution centuries in the making.
Lucia: A girl adopted at birth into a royal family discovers the truth about her past - and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield.
Magnus: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, a firstborn son begins to realize that the heart can be more lethal than the sword....
The only outcome that's certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed?

"Falling Kingdoms will gut you emotionally. It will make you ache, cry, and beg for the sequel as you turn the last page. I absolutely loved it." (Julie Kagawa, New York Times best-selling author of The Iron Queen)
"This triple-layered tale of bloodshed, heartbreak, and tangled court intrigue kept me turning pages very late into the night." (Lesley Livingston, award-winning author of Wondrous Strange)
"Surprisingly good!"
Yes, There is a lot going on in this book. Sometime I had to take it back to listen to it again but it keeps you listening to the end. And then wanting more. The only bad part was that the beginning was slow and kind of confusing till you get into the book. You need to know this book is about 4 different people in 3 different countries. They all come together but it takes time.
Cleo, she goes through so much in this book that you can't help but root for her.
He did a really good job.

"Very intriguing and fast paced"
I enjoyed every minute. The narrator did a superb job.
Different POV and moral ambiguity of the characters.
Passion. He was able to make me believe he "was" the characters.
Both.
Must read!
"Fun entertaining book"
Fast, Fun, Entertaining
Fred Berman did a fantastic job bringing each character to life. Each having it's own voice, made it was easy to follow the story. He keeps the pace of the book moving along and even though this is a complicated plot, he does a great job of keeping you engaged and keeps things in line with the story being told.
I have a hard time sitting through any audio book in one sitting since I can't keep my eyes open long enough. However, even though I listened to this book at night towards bedtime, it was easy enough to pick up where I left off the night before and fully understand what was happening. Thank God for the timer in the audible listener and for bookmarks!! The narrater really does a fantastic job. The voices of each character, the emotion of them and the plot of the book were all top notch in my opinion. Can't wait for the second book now!
I hate cliff hangers! Now I have to wait for the second book to come out!
