He won't stay put for a woman, and she won't chase after any man...
Mitch Kowalski lives out of a suitcase - and he likes it that way. Traveling for work has the added bonus of scaring off women who would otherwise try to tie him down. But when he's called home to help with the family lodge, he's intrigued by the new girl in town and her insistence that she doesn't need a man. If there's one thing Mitch can't resist, it's a challenge.
After a nomadic childhood, Paige Sullivan is finally putting down roots. Determined to stand on her own two feet, she lives by the motto "Men are a luxury, not a necessity". But when Mr. Tall, Dark and Hot pulls up a stool in her diner and offers her six weeks of naughty fun with a built-in expiration date, she's tempted to indulge.
They're the perfect match for a no-strings fling. Until they realize their sexy affair has become anything but casual....

"Could not finish--narrator is that bad."
The narrator. It was hard to tell if the writing was cheesy or if it was just the way she read things. Bad inflection, bad acting, bad reading of dialogue. Little differentiation between voices, really awkward stressing of words, and the "smile in her voice" was uncalled for when telling me about vacuum cleaners--a hint: they aren't that exciting.
Bad bad bad.
Maybe I'll go grab the book from the library and give it a try that way.
Maybe, depending on the narrator. I have read her paper books and enjoyed a few of them.
Not if you paid me. Nails on a chalkboard are probably better.
Some of the excessive "tell and not show" stuff.
Please don't waste your credits, readers. Go buy or rent the book and listen to something else. Stacey's books are usually enjoyable in print form, not the best but not awful either, but this was just baaaaaaad.
"Why did they change narrators?"
I love this series but the narration ruined it for me.
Lauren Fortgang
I barely made it through whole book.
"Love Shannon Stacey but..."
Yes, I love this series. I like that I can listen to one book and listen to another and already have a feeling for the characters.
This one I can say is not my favorite. It feels as if it was rushed toward the end. I feel like their were characters just hanging out there that needed their story finished. What happens with Josh and Katie? Ryan? With the hotel?
Lauren Fortgang. She did the narration on the other's so I was expecting to have her perception on how the characters sounded. Renee Werbowski sounded as if she was just reading the book. There wasn't really any emotion or her take on the characters.
"Bad Narration"
It's so sad to get a book and not be able to enjoy it because of the narration. It's a waste

"Too bad they changed the narrator..."
I love this series of the loves stories of the Kowalski kids, but the change in narrator is irritating. Unfortunately, Renee Werbowski can't differentiate between characters in the sound and intonation of voice. Her pacing is really good, but the tone isn't good. Story is still good and worth a listen if you can ignore the narrator. I'm still looking forward to the next in the story. What's going to happen with Ryan and Liz?
"Excellent Listen!"
Enjoyable but better listened to in series order. I've enoyed other books in the Kowalski series hence downloaded and listened to this one when it popped up in new releases. Unfortunately I spent a lot of time at the beginning trying to understand the connection to the earlier books until I realized I had skipped book 3.
"Cheesy ending."
So far I have loved everything I have found on Audible by Shannon, I'm not sure is it was the narrartor (who is UGH. made me want to plug my ears at times) or if I just never noticed that she writes cheesy mush stuff. I did notice a corney line here and there in here other stories but at the end of this book it just went straight to cheesy. Cringe worthy eye rolling cheesy. I think alot had to do with the narrartor but at the same time she only reads what the author wrote so....
But over all it was a good book. I found my self laughing from time to time once I was able to adjust to the narrartor ( have I mention I didnt care for her) I am looking forward to more books from this author.
"For a Predictable Series This Books Ending...."
For a predictable series, I didn't 'see' [guess] the ending of this book until about 2/3rds of the way through.
Yes, see next answer.
Yes, it is a sweet, feel good, 'vanilla' romance series. She also left a couple characters stories open to continue this series.
Steady, smooth, professional
This is MUCH MORE TAME than I usually like, but I got them on sale and it was nice filler while I wait for my favorite authors...Shayla Black, Maya Banks, etc.
"Fun Fluff"
This was a cute, sweet romance. A good vacation book. I've listened to all the series and will continue to do so.

"Great series. Best narrator."
My husband and I are enjoying this series. I like Renee Werbowski as the narrator. She has brought great voice to the characters.
