Good girls just can't win! High school principal Judy Anne Palmer was always a good girl who never did an impulsive, rebellious thing. Ever. And look where it got her!
One night in Dallas, she meets a man and decides to indulge in a liberating night of passion - liberating her from the stigma of being the oldest living virgin north of the Rio Grande. After all, she'll never see her one-night Romeo again.
Unfortunately, the night doesn't turn out exactly the way she planned, and her one-night Romeo isn't exactly one-night stand material.
When he turns up in her hometown as a new teacher on her faculty, Judy Anne knows that she's in big trouble. Can she resist the desire that burns between her and Romeo? Can a night of illicit love be enough?
With eccentric small town characters, a bratty niece, an overbearing school board president, and the temptation of a secret lover, Judy Anne has all she can do to keep her passion from turning into the biggest scandal little Clayton Bend, Texas, has ever seen.

"Cute story with hot sex scenes"
Can think of four - 'Hot Sex in Texas'
Didn't have a favorite. Character voices are O.K. but the narrator is actually really great at voicing the sex scenes :-)
The virgin has left the building!
"Good story"
The senario
Dallas
Narrator tried to hard, no acting ability, over innunciated to try to speak plainly.
I thought the virginal sex scene was funny.
"Can't work out? This will amp your heart rate!"
This was a full, rich story. I went and bought the book as I wanted to savor it with more than my ears.
Judy Anne of course. This woman deserved so much better with all she did for her family. And her 'Romeo' was a perfect match, even if it took her a while!
As she was all the characters - that's a hard call. She did a nice narration.
The author does a fantastic job with her characters and the descriptions are wonderful. As I said it made me purchase the ebook - that's quite a compliment.

"Entertaining love story"
Yes, because it represents the conflict that a lot of women who take care of extended family feel - to want to be selfless, but to also want their own personal fulfillment, and wondering how to attain both. Plus it has quirky small town characters that make it very entertaining :-)
The widowed mom and her realizing that once a new man enters her life, she needs to stop being needy and let her grown daughter have her own life too.
Bringing character voices to life and making the story interesting and entertaining, even when some of the accents aren't perfect. That is what I like about listening to audiobooks - different narrators bringing their own style and flavor to the story.
I enjoy Ms. Reeves' writing style and will be buying her other stories too.
"NOT erotic!"
I enjoyed listening to this book but it was not what I expected. It was listed in the erotica section but there was not much sex and nothing that could be considered erotic.
This was a very sweet, well written story about two people who really need what the other offers. Roman and Judy Anne are meant to be together, they just have to find a way to make it work.
Christine Padovan came across as stiff. If there had been any erotica she probably would haved choked to death!
If there were a follow-up it would need to be about the neices and the choices they end up making.
“I love all genres of books, however when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
"Sweet Love Story"
This was a weekender listen. Something for fun with no serious effort needed. Was not disappointed, in fact, it was better than expected. However, I do agree with other reviewers, the narrator was not very good with the delivery of the story. The poor narration stopped the book getting 4 stars.
Addicted to Audible!
"Juvenile"
Both Roman & Julie Ann we made to be like bimbo's. I felt like the story was poorly written. The story base was good though.
This was my first
No
Probably none
"So-so"
I have nothing really bad to say and nothing really good. Thus, this book was so-so to me. It had romance, which was great. That was really all there was. There was an attempt at having a serious backstory, but it held no significant degree of interest for me. But I appreciate the attempt. There were 2-3 sex scenes that were mildly descriptive with very milk language used. So most of the book was not composed of bed scenes. And the narration was also so-so. The narrator failed utterly at doing a British accent. I hate that she even tried. It sounded horrible and, thus, detracted from the experience of the story for me. When the story ended it was just one other item to mark as done. No residual smile or joy or disappointment--thank goodness--after listening. Just....so-so.
"Fire the Narrator and send the auth back to school"
could not finish the book because the narrator is so bad. The paper back will probably do ok.
Get a different narrator.
use a competent narrator. A good narrator can make or break a booki
might have been entertaining, but to wooden. The author might make it in 5-10 yrs. jd
"Good story but awful reader"
