Billions of people pray daily. Many find their prayers answered. Others do not. Skeptics will argue that the occurrences where prayers were allegedly answered by a higher being, were merely coincidental, in other words “dumb luck” Yet how would that explain the many miracles reported each year as a result of prayer, which defy the laws of logic and continue to baffle physicians and other scientists?

Again a skeptic would probably say, that this has resulted from the power of human mind which modern psychology and neuroscience has just barely begun to investigate. Believers on the other hand, will counter that the answered prayers are not the result of the human mind but the intervention of a higher supernatural deity, often referred to as “God”. Non-believers will retort, “If that were so, and this so-called deity is all-loving and all powerful, then why are some many denied answered prayers?”

This book suggests very convincingly, that the power is both the result of the human mind and the intervention a higher being. But Catherine Ponder contends, that some prayers go unanswered for a number of reasons. These reasons are surprisingly sensible. Many can be resolved through relaxation, concentration, letting go of bitter grudges, learning to trust the divine plan God has for you and an overall changing of lifestyle and attitudes.

The author presents many good examples of why some people’s connections with God are more powerful than others. She then explains methods on how to strengthen one’s “prayer powers” and improve their relationship with God, in order to receive answered prayers. She swears that this will result in a rich, happy, satisfying and prosperous life.
