The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack against the empire, while Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.
Overwhelmed by the ships and clones at Thrawn's command, the Republic has one last hope: sending a small force, led by Luke Skywalker, into the very stronghold that houses Thrawn's terrible cloning machines. There a final danger awaits, as the Dark Jedi C'baoth directs the battle against the Rebels and builds his strength to finish what he had already started: the destruction of Luke Skywalker.

"UNABRIDGED! Finally hear it all."
We finally get to hear the entirety of The Thrawn Trilogy. This book was well produced, Marc Thompson did a great job as normal. If you've made it this far in the Trilogy you won't be disappointed.
"Thrawn trilogy--three credits well spent!!"
The narrator--wow, was there really only one!--made each voice so distinctive, expressive, and believable, even for someone like me who has watched the original movies so many times. I tried reading the trilogy because my daughter loved it so, but I kept bogging down and only got about half through this book. When all three came out in unabridged form I got them. What seemed a little hokey and very hard to follow in print came alive in these audiobooks. The story really was great. It was like having those other three installments to the 9-movie series once talked about. It really was as good as a movie. Truly five stars in every way--the story, the narration, and the production quality.
I am a person that tries and get through 1 book a week if possible. I am Dyslexic so this is really the only way I can get through a book. I have listened to more book in a year than I read my first 20 years of my life. I found the joy of audio books in the early 2000 and have been a audible customer since 2000 or 2001. I have over 490 books in 2 different accounts and listened to 90%.
"I wish the next series was done already"
It was a very well laid out book. there were a lot of parts that had you at the edge of your seat.
the detail in a lot of the characters, and the death a couple of the deaths in the book.
Mara, she was my favorite in all three books. Her attitude remind me of someone very special in my life.
"Wow!"
What a wonderful book and the performance by Marc Thompson was phenomenal. I own the old, abridged, audiobooks and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! If you're a Star Wars fan, you MUST own this audiobook trilogy.
Grand Admiral Thrawn of course. He's a bada**! It's not often that I read a book and hope the villan wins but he's the exception to the rule. It's a real shame in the end..
He makes me feel like there's a whole cast of people narrating. What talent he has! I can't believe it's just him doing all the voices. The production value is very good as well, with sound effects coming in at just the right times.
No, I listed to it an hour or so at a time while exercising.
"Simply amazing"
What a ending!!!!
Was Luke or Card in first two books but this book def Han Solo
Carried a drive in his voice, you connected not only with the character but the voice speaking as the character
If i didnt have to work and socialize I would def do it
Lots of books lots of time. I love all things Star Wars and fantasy. The Bartimaeus trilogy (or quad) maybe the perfect series. Jonathan Stroud and Douglas Adams are my heroes.
"Red Eyes Smiling on an Interdictor Star Destroyer"
New Republic Birth
This was an excellent conclusion to the trilogy. I'm saddened by the fact that the new movies are going to develop independently from this time line... But read away! If you love Luke like I love Luke, this is the book for you.
Marc is the voice of the extended universe, on of the best narrators period.
Nooope, just a solid 5 stars.
"What a great job by Marc Thompson!"
Absolutely. I would listen to the whole series again. I've always been a big star wars fan but this was the series that got me interested in reading the novels. This series is very well written and am glad to be able to listen to an unabridged version of the series. Marc Thompson did an awesome job narrating this series.
Absolutely
I would really love to listen to more unabridged star wars books such as the New Jedi Order Series and X-wing series. My job has me travelling alot so abridged audiobooks are a waste of money to me. All the abridged star wars books should be redone into unabridged audiobooks with Marc Thompson as narrator.
"Excellent Star wars story"
The Thrawn series was excellent. It was very enjoyable to listen too. I find a good starwars book lights the thrill of stories inside me then so I have to find another to listen too. I venture off to other things in the world until another excellent one pops up and brings that excitement and thirst back.
"This is a Production - Awesome"
This audio book is complete with sound effects, you can pick up on who it is when they speak and really makes you feel you are there.
Princess Leah, they captured her and Han Solo really well. If you liked the movies then you will recognize the voices and relate, as well as the sarcasm and humor from those actors.
I liked them all
I am going to be getting all of the Marc Thompson books, I like the movies and never thought I would like the books but the Audio books done this way are fantastic.
Brings audiobooks to a whole new level.
"One of the best"
This was the first Star Wars book I had ever read. I remember seeing it in book stores when I was young. As a teen when I became interested in Star Wars and read the book I was blown away. From this trilogy I became a huge fan of the universe of Star Wars... Timothy Zahn is very gifted. Should have been made into a movie.
