The port of Miami brings in millions of dollars worth of cocaine every year, and the Cartel controls 80 percent of it. The Diamond family is a force to be reckoned with, but all hell breaks loose when they lose their leader. The most ruthless gangster Miami has ever seen, Carter Diamond, leaves behind a wife, twin sons, a daughter, and a secret - his illegitimate son, Carter Jones. When young Carter learns of his father’s death, he comes to town and is introduced to the legacy of the Cartel.
Miamor is a woman who uses her beauty to enhance her skill as a contract killer. She is the leader of the Murder Mamas. When her crew is hired to take down the Cartel, they slip up, and Miamor loses her sister in the process. She is determined to get revenge. Unknowingly, she meets the son of Carter Diamond - and he immediately catches her heart. She is sleeping with the enemy, and when she finds out, she is torn between love and revenge.
Young Carter and Miamor lead two different lifestyles. They are on opposing teams, and when their worlds collide, the truth will be unveiled in an unpredictable ending.

"Entranced and ready for more"
This book was such a thrill to listen to. I have been waiting for more Ashley and Jaquavis audiobooks because after I had listened to Murderville I was definately hooked on their story line and the way that these to authors draw their characters and play out their story with so many twists and turns throughout the book things you would have never imagined how things would turn out. Cary Hite is amongst one of my most favorite narrators, the way that he can change his voice and go in and out of character is amazing. It seems like there are a lot of uptight people who comment on books with a lot of sex scenes or harsh language, but I loved everything about this book. It was raw and uncut gives you a taste of the real world and that is another reason that the author's have captivated me. If you don't like to hear detailed sex scenes or murders or don't like crude language then dont listen to this book. I love all the gorey details and can picture the scenes in my head, pain and pleasure. My favorite characters were Money aka Monroe and Lena and that twist in the book. I never expected what happened to happen so once you hear that part you will know what I mean. This family's story had me at the edge of my seat and I am ready for parts 2 and 3 which are downloading right now and will be commenting on them shortly. I give this book two thumbs up along with two big toes.
"A terrible waste of a credit"
Stupid story. Unbelievable. Characters shallow. Writing poor. Narrator can't read. The "sound effects" were ridiculous.
NEVER
Can't read. Mispronounces dozens of words.
Regret that I had purchased it and had to listen to it because it was the only book I had on a long airplane trip
DO NOT BUY THIS
Tell us about yourself! USPS, mail carrier walking all day, audio books really make my day seems shorter
"exciting, thrilling,"
yes, on my way to purchase parts 2 & 3, can't wait to start listening.
Mecca, was my favorite, lots of drama in every scene he was in. never knew what frame of mind he was in
when Breeze was abducted by the murda mama's and killed
NONE, I may not have made it home, they all seemed to be killers at heart.
this book reminds me of the Dutch trilogy, by Teri Woods, it was also a great audio to listen too, well worth the money. the narrator Cary Hite was great, reminds me of Erza Knight.
"Completed in One Day"
This book ranks very high in my library. I remember the Murda Mamas from Murderville which I am still waiting for part 2 of that TRILOGY. I finished Cartel the same day and listened to it a second time so I could be ready for book 2 which I am purchasing TODAY!! I loved the twists and the drama. I really hope part 2 is just as intriguing. So far Ashley and JaQuavis is 2 for 2. GREAT AUTHORS!! Unpredictable storyline.
"Oh Yes!!!"
I just finished all 3 parts of the cartel series, and I must say I enjoyed every single one from beginning to the end!!!! Ashley & Jaquavis are fantastic at putting a story together with fast pace twist & turns & drama, drama, drama!!!!! The cartel series was off the chain!!!!!
"The Cartel experience was superb!"
What a magnificent read! The opening scene was shocking but the Diamond family is one that readers want to see victorious in the end. I was sad when Breeze was sucked in by association but I believe that Carter will pull this crime family through. Can't wait to read the others in this trilogy! My new favorite crime family!
"Can't wait til the next!"
I love that the family embraced Carter as one of their own.
At the reception for B. When she switched the glasses. OMG...nooooooooo! I was on an emotional ride.
It was hard to pick a side with this book. I laughed and cried with both sides of the story.
I love love this book.
"Loved It!!!"
I love audio over print. ( Due to health reasons I must do audio.)
Fast paced, engaging and action packed. The narrators were a perfect.
I loved Young Carter.
Young Carter for his strength, level head, business sense and how he strived to keep the family together.
Went straight through books I-4, can't wait for 5. Each book opens up new surprises. Love, love, loved it.
"AWFUL"
I stopped listening after 30 mins. The narrator was terrible, I could not stand listening to him do the womens voices. Also, I hate when audio books have sound effects. It is a book. While I am listening to someone read it to me...I do not need to hear shotgun sounds...I still have some imagination. It was like a bad impression of what some one thinks gangsters should sound like. I hated it the story, the dialog, really just the whole thing.
"Couldn't wait for the next book"
It's one of my top favorites
The beginning
Carter
Wouldn't change the name. It's perfect
Can't wait for more
