Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy - beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken - a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines.
And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy - tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife.
Their passion is consuming and idyllic - essentially, they can’t keep their hands off each other - through a sweeping tale of adventure and misadventure, human folly and numerous mysteries of parentage.
Hold on to your bonnets! This sexy, epic, hilarious, poignant, and romantic sequel to Pride and Prejudice goes far beyond Jane Austen.

I love to read! With kids, that hobby is impossible...enter Audible...problem solved. Chores that I dread are now quiet time for this Mommy!!!
"Great Listen...but not for everyone!"
I am an Austen lover and have dreamed of what happened after the wedding. While this book is not written in true Austen stlye and contains a great deal of bedroom activity. If you enjoy Eloisa James and Lisa Kleypas this book is for you! If you want a pruddish version...not so much. There are several story lines that I disagree with and think are not true to the characters (namely Bingley and Jane) but to each his own. I enjoyed it and will definitely pick it up again in the future. Please...if you are going to review this title read all the way through first.
"Love, love, loved it..."
Loved it so much. I read (listened to) it again. It's the kind of story you don't mind standing in the slowest of grocery lines. It kept my patience at bay. It had love, passion, suspence, drama everything a good book should have, and i loved it.
I just Love the Allure of a Great Romance...a Pair of Rose Colored Glasses...some Fine Wine, and a Subscription to Audible...
"Do I Hear Mini Series???"
Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife: Pride and Prejudice Continues by Linda Berdoll was a complete delight! Written in an Austen-ish style, with a touch of LIsa Kleypas spice. I would strongly recommend this listening experience.
Rosalyn Landor delivers a masterful performance, as fans have come to expect from her.
This novel would make a wonderful mini-series, as I believe that it would be greatly welcomed by Austen fans.
Definitely credit worthy!!! Enjoy...
disappointed
"Perfect!"
At the end of Pride and Prejudice, we're hopeful that Mr. Darcy will be kind and attentive, and Elizabeth will be happy. I, for one, worried that she would live a life of misunderstandings and loneliness. Heavy sigh.
Written in perfect Austenian style, this "sequel" to P+P is more than one could have hoped, as we enjoy much more time with the kind, loving side of Mr. Darcy. Don't get me wrong, he is still pompous and arrogant (and murderous?!), but Jane helps him make his way. As Ms. Austen would have provided, there is plenty of misunderstanding and reason for vexation, but Linda Berdoll sees to it that the characters resolve these quickly and usually with a passionate time of making up!
The story has many plot twists. While enjoying life at Pemberley, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth play their roles in the often surprising and sometimes amusing, unfolding of the lives of Austen's fabulous cast of characters. None are forgotten. If you want to know what happens next for Jane and Mr. Bingley, Lydia and Wickham, Georgiana, Mr. Collins, and some new characters, LISTEN TO THIS BOOK!
Wife to sometimes neglected husband (due to listening to audiobooks) and mother to adult children. I am a relatively recent avid reader/listener, only really starting to read for pleasure a few years ago but now am thoroughly addicted.
"Excellent continuation of a favorite"
I love Pride and Prejudice and felt this was an excellent continuation of the stories. I especailly loved Elizabeth and Darcy's passionate relationship throughout the book.
Hopeful Romantic
"Interesting"
I love Pride & Prejudice. I found this "continuation" interesting and enjoyable. There are some twists and turns that I never saw coming with many of the characters. Some I really liked and some I still find hard to believe but I still enjoyed the book. I would recommend for anyone who likes "what if" stories. I do. Also, Rosalyn Landor is exceptional as usual - you can't go wrong with her reading.
"Loved it!"
I really enjoyed this book a lot. It is a lot of fun and that's really what I wanted. There are some books that are great "literature" and then there are just some books that are great fun. This one falls into the latter category for sure. It is NOT going to be for everyone but if you go in prepared for the style of the book then you should be fine. It is NOT written in the style of pride and prejudice and is more of a "trashy romance" in many ways. BUT...the characters in my opinion stay true to who they were in the original...you just learn more about them and that makes them more real to me. I love seeing my favorite couple so happy and who WOULDN'T want such a happy marriage? I loved everything about this book and I hope that the next two books are recorded and become available on audible too.
Supernatural Romance Junkie
"Not Austen, But More than worth listening to!"
I find after a stilted beginning, this story is interesting...and shows the misapprehensions of the day....and how communications can change everything....I find myself wanting to hear more and more. I've read it as well and hearing it always brings a whole different perspective to the writing! I'm hoping we can get all three of Linda's Darcy Books into Audible!
"Darcy's and Elizbeth's love continued.."
Read my Imagination
Elizabeth as she is still very strong and her personality remained true to the original character.
No
This may be a little more edgy compared to the original book but if you've always wondered what ever happened to Elizabeth and Darcy this book is probably one of the best that captures your imagination and makes you believe in the story. I've read quite a number of these continuation stories and this one is by far the best one. I didn't much care for Jane and Bingley's story line though, but other than that this is a great book and very entertaining.
"Great follow-on to a classic..."
This is a bit "warmer" version of the Jane Austen classic, but no less compelling. I like how it wraps up the lives of the original characters. It's got all the angst, misunderstandings, charm and wit of a period romance, as well as action and adventure. The story of Lizzie and Darcy's relationship is perfect.... very well done. I had a hard time putting it down, even when I'd listened to it a second time almost a year later.
I also loved the language in it. I found myself looking up words that you just don't see in modern day romances - I thought it was very much in keeping with that of upper class society at that time. Nothing vulgar at all, but it was interesting to see the choice of words the author used to describe some of the sexier scenes. Linda Berdoll did an outstanding job!
Great narration by Rosalyn Landor - I have listened to her before, and thought she was very good, but this was by far her best.
Well worth the time and the credit - I highly recommend it.
