"Not the right narrator"
I really enjoy Karen Rose's books, and so far this one is no exception, but this is just NOT the right narrator for the book. I've enjoyed Ms. Gavin's narration in The Hollows series (among others), but her voice is driving me crazy with this one. It sounds like she's lisping and some of the accents are terrible... things that I haven't noticed before. Whatever she's changed, she needs to quit and change back.

"I may have to buy the book"
I am a huge fan of Karen Rose's books, the audio productions in particular. I am about 2 hours into this one and I am tempted to go to the book store and buy the book to read instead. The story line is already very good very typical Karen Rose, however, the narrator is terrible. Hard to understand and her fake southern accents are like nails on a chalkboard. Very distracting to the storyline.

"Interest story...if you can stand to listen"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?It's okay
What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?She sounds like she has been on a drinking binge or she has had a stroke...it's horrible to listen too! Worst narrator I have ever heard!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Nooo...I liked the story...just could stand the narrator. I felt like I needed to offer her coffee to sober up.

"Good story -- Horrible narrator!!"
I almost stopped listening after about 30 minutes, but since I love all of Karen Rose's books, I soldiered on. The lisping narrator was so annoying! I'm not sure if it's a speech impediment or if she is lisping on purpose for some unknown reason that only she can answer. Whatever the case, it almost ruined the book for me -- almost. I agree with a previous reviewer, buying the book was an idea I had as well. If not for the narration I would have given it 5 stars.

"Narration ruined story"
I am not sure if I will be able to make it through the story with this narrator. The book is otherwise ok, although this is my 2nd or 3rd Karen Rose book and the characters' are very predictable.

"Suspenseful"
This book kept me on the edge of my seat ... until the very end and then only because the author found it necessary to "tidy up" ... Characters are good and the reader was excellent. Highly recommended, even though I have been disappointed in other offerings by this author.

"Awful narration."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?Different narrator. Maybe it would have been better if the narration was better.
What do you think your next listen will be?Hunger Games
Would you be willing to try another one of Marguerite Gavin’s performances?Absolutely not. She is really bad. Not everyone is meant to do this, she definately isnt. I listen to lots of audible books and this is the worst.

"Good story, poor narrator"
Is there anything you would change about this book?This is a well crafted story - kept me listening even though the narrator added nothing to the story. Her lisp was very hard to listen to.
