In this second book from the Duggars, they focus on the principles that equip them to face life's challenges—drawing from their most recent challenge with the three-month premature birth of their newest child, Josie. They also share the new challenges their older children are facing as they prepare for adult life. Central to the book is a section on the principles that the Duggars have consistently taught their children. These simply worded principles are basic to the Duggar family and are shared in a way that other parents can incorporate in their own homes.
A special chapter on homeschooling gives valuable information to parents who are considering this route or are already invested in it. The world continues to be amazed by their 19 well-groomed, well-behaved, well-schooled children and their home life, which focuses on family, financial responsibility, fun—and must importantly, faith. The Duggars show how parents can succeed, whether they’re rearing a single child or several.

"WOW!! LOVED IT!!!"
listening to Michelle herself reading it gave me the impression of having almost a one on one conversation with her and a lot of questions were answered that I think most fans would like to ask them or have asked them. Also the fact that she actually gives child training tips and not just stories or examples. These were great to enrich the child training advice.
not sure...this is my first audio book and LOVED it...
That parenting is not only doable, but can be enjoyable and fulfilling....
Even if you have followed every single show and even watched reruns, you will really enjoy this book because it gives you the story and personal experience behind many of the events you see them going through in the show, plus personal reflections and opinions that are not always obvious in the show.I am always ready to hear any parenting tip from the Duggars and this book very much pleased me in many questions I've had for a while and couldn't research.A MUST HAVE for anybody who respects and admires these amazing humble christian parents and the influence they are having in others all around the world in changing how family and children are viewd and cherished. They have changed MY world!

"Wish I'd never read this."
Not having Michelle Duggar narrating like she's reading Goodnight Moon to her youngest children.
No, I don't think so. I have been a fan of the show since it's beginning, but what I learned in this book showed me just how strange and sad the Duggar situation really is.
She narrated the book like she was reading a board book to a baby. There was no emotion, no inflection. How can you read your own work like you've never even seen it before?
All of the above. They do not try to hide that they do not allow their daughters to leave the house unless they get married, that kids who start getting "ideas" are sent to a retraining retreat for as long as necessary, and that keeping everyone together is more important than individual needs and desires, including pursuing ones' own life and education.

"Valuable Valuable Book and Parenting Resource"
I love that Michelle and Jim Bob created a highly valuable parenting resource in this book while sharing their super-compelling family story.
I was very moved by parts; felt so encouraged by others; learned new info in several areas and am so very FULL from listening/reading.
Thank you so much Duggar family for loving us enough to share so deeply and transparently as you have.
Shalom to you from the Butterfly Homeschool Family, the Johnson's of Atlanta.
Sincerely,

"Encouraging for mamas"
what an encouragement this has been to me as I have struggled with post postpartum depression. She doesn't cover PPD at all, but just being able to let this play as I clean the house or play with the kids, it's helped fill my days with a positive mindset to help me cope. Not to mention the very helpful ideas in keeping little ones happy, healthy, and comforted. So thankful for this book.
