It's a predator-eat-predator world for the Were-Hunters. Danger haunts any given day. There is no one to trust. No one to love. Not if they want to live….
An orphan with no clan that will claim him, Wren Tigarian grew to adulthood under the close scrutiny and mistrust of those around him. A forbidden blend of two animals - snow leopard and white tiger - Wren has never listened to anyone when there was something he wanted. Now he wants Marguerite.
Marguerite D'Aubert Goudeau is the daughter of a prominent U.S. Senator who hates the socialite life she's forced to live. Like her mother before her, she has strong Cajun roots that her father doesn't understand. Still, she has no choice but to try and conform to a world where she feels like an outsider. But the world of rich and powerful humans is never to meet the world of the Were-Hunters who exist side by side with them, unseen, unknown, undetected. To break this law is to call down a wrath of the highest order.
In order to have Marguerite, Wren must fight not just the humans who will never accept his animal nature, but the Were-Hunters who want him dead for endangering their world. It's a race against time and magic without boundary that could cost Marguerite and Wren not just their lives, but their very souls….

"A Great addition"
Fred Berman's last performance (that I am aware of) in this series and he delivers. We listen as Wren goes from rags to riches in more than one way.We also get a glimpse of the ruling couniicl for the Katagaria/Arcadians and wait till you find out who their mediator is! Another great addition to the series!
Always looking for a great Fantasy Series... Please do make suggestions...
"Sherri does it again"
I just can’t get enough of Mrs. Kenyon! I actually skipped this book because I am hard headed. After every book I don’t think that there could be a better one, but I am always, always proved wrong! In fact I also skipped "One Silent Night" because I don’t want to like Stryker! I bought it just don’t want to listen to it. Sherri has such great character development that you just can't help to feel real emotions toward her characters. I am glad she focused on Wren and decided to tell his and Maggie's Story.
Wren's character development was amazing to watch progress. Well I am not going to spoil it for you... you just got to read/listen for yourself. As far as Narrators go I am partial to Holter Graham as he was the Narrator for CON series. Mr. Fred Burman though has awesome Character Voices and a very distinctive voice that is very enjoyable and does Sherri's great works justice.
Before Sherri's books I shied away from Urban Fantasy authors because most of them were Romance Novels in disguise. Now I cannot deny that Sherri has Romance in her novels, but I don’t seem to mind it because the World she has created is so vivid and well thought out. She tempers her Romance with Action, Fantasy, Character Development and "Sex". (In fact when I first started researching the Characters after I finished CON I was convinced that Sherri was actually a male writer penning books under a female name) Her "Romance" appealed to me on a carnal level. All I know is that is that I am addicted to Sherri's Dark/Dream/Were Hunters!
Sherri- Please, Please Please hurry up with you soon to be released books!
Avid reader and listener. Especially (but not just) urban fantasy and romance
"Love.. gotta love it.."
Not much to it, it's just a love story. I liked it.
You may notice my lack of enthusiasm, it's because although the premise was nice, the story sounded a bit tired.
- The main characters lacked consistency.. Out of the blue Wren and (what's her name..) Marguerite would for example make a joke that was out of character. Facts would conveniently pop up along the way.. stuff like that.
One problem arising from having such an extensive series where all the men are perfect is that when they meet one another (as happened in this story) the other hunks will interfere with our perception of our hero (Wren) as the hunkyist of them all (in Marguerites eyes).
Ah well..
Anyways, no regrets here. If you want a taste of the darkhunter/ were world you'll get your fill here..
An enjoyable read.
"One of my favorites in the series"
Of the ones I've read from this series so far, this is one of the best
I enjoyed the story of wren and it answers alot of questions about the werehunters
Great narrator! He really does bring the characters to life
I couldn't choose just one, it really was a great book beginning to end
I really had a hard time putting it down and i probably will listen a second time
"One of my favorite authors!"
The pacing and the voice of the reader.
I enjoyed when Wren's father bit Maggie to turn her into a tiger.
"As always very Sexy..."
amazing story line
the shell the main character broke from...
Spoiler Alert...
Maggie becoming a tiger...very unexpected...
No real extremes...the ending was emotional...
I have an addiction to Audio books. What I can't get at the library, I come to Audible and they are always having a sale. I have way more audiobooks than I could possible listen to in over 3 years, but I can't help but adding to my collection and I read a little of everything but mostly romance and paranormal goodies.
"I'm drooling, here."
I like the bad boys, and Sherrilyn Kenyon likes to give them to us. I hope it never stops. This is another great arcing of the dark hunter series and more about changelings.

"Love the Tigard"
Absolutely! Wren and Maggie are awesome. The story's great.
When Wren saves Maggie from being mugged. He's so sweet, even though he could kill her easily.
Everything! He's got a great voice and I've listened to him before. He's one of my favorites.
Can a mixed blood animal find love with the daughter of a US Senator?
I loved this book. I listen to it all the time!
