Oliver Sharpe, the Marquess of Stoneville, has been London's most notorious rake for years. Fed up with his behavior, his grandmother threatens to disinherit him if he doesn't tame his wild ways and wed within the year. Outraged, Oliver decides to hire a woman from a brothel to pose as his fiancée to prove that he can't be forced into marriage.
When he meets Maria Butterfield, a beautiful American woman who is searching for her fiancé in the most unlikely of places, he knows she's perfect for his ruse. But before long, Oliver finds himself willing to risk anything to make Maria his - even his heart, and the dark secret he hides inside it.

"Filled with larger-than-life characters and lively dialogue, this sizzling romance proves once again that Sabrina Jeffries is a "grand mistress of storytelling.'" (Romantic Times)
"Loved it"
I absolutely loved the book can not wait till the she writes about the brothers and sisters will definitly buy those books as soon as I can
Audible addicted love mystery, lately stuck on love story. Mother of 1 Labrador and 1 perfect man. Work way too hard, and so ready to be retired
"It was cute and sexy"
I enjoyed it worth the cost will purchase the rest of series, even thou all of the narrators are different
"Lame, Formulaic Storyline"
The storyline is just so formulaic and boring. A very weak story created as an excuse to get from one seduction/sex scene to another. I'm all for light entertainment and I wasn't expecting some deep story - but this is just bad.
"Okay plot, terrible narrator"
Terrible audio quality on this recording - sounded like someone was reading in a closet. Narrator was terrible! Wrong English accent for the aristocracy - and little or no differentiation in character voices. I had a long drive with only this book available to listen and decided silence was better.
"Good story"
It was a good story, but it was wierd to listen to the guy's voice when he was trying to do the female character. Specially during certain scenes when they were kissing, etc.
"Another Excellent Book"
I enjoyed this book just as I have all the books of this series.
I loved the moment when Maria told Nathan off.
I love his different tones for different characters
When Oliver realized he loved Maria
"A Game of Cat & Mouse"
I've listened to it twice and I'm sure I'll listen to it again in a few months.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 30 years. I love reading - romance, adventure... Captain Blood is really great!
"You are going to love Lord Stoneville!!!"
vulnerable, manly, gentleman
I love the end of the book when they realize all the mistakes they were making
When they meet for the first time in the brothel
Ummmmmmmm Certainly turned up the heat, let's put it that way....
"SOME GOOD LOVE SCENES"
I REALLY LIKE THE BOOKS ABOUT DUKES, SO I CAN SAY I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK. AND IT HAD A COUPLE STEAMY LOVE SCENES. WHICH IS ALWAYS A PLUS.
