    "Perfect Chemisty has perfect chemistry."

I wasn't sure if I would like this book. It was recommended to me, so I thought I would take a chance and buy it. Now, I am glad that I did.

Two diffrent narrators were used to tell the story. And I think that that made the book even better.

There are some very adult themes in this book, even though it is suppose to be a Young Adult book. Maybe, more like an "Older Young Adult" book. LOL
    Enjoy.

    "Steamy Teenage Romance"

You can’t see it but I’m fanning myself right now. Perfect Chemistry is super steamy and oh so much fun to read. The chapters alternate narration between Brittany Ellis and Alex Fuentes, giving you each characters perspective. As mentioned in the description, Brittany and Alex are total opposites. At school, Brittany is the popular good girl and Alex is the Latino blood gang member and school bad boy. The two characters are paired together as lab partners in Chemistry class and their differences create friction from the beginning.

Brittany puts up a facade to her peers that she has the perfect life, but in her opinion it is far from perfect. At home, Brittany’s parents pressure her to keep up appearances by always looking great and keeping up good grades. While her parents are busy nitpicking her, they ignore her special needs sister, whom Brittany cares for deeply.

Alex is the oldest of three brothers and ever since his father died, from gang violence, he has been the man of the house. Since gang activity is prevalent in his neighborhood, he becomes a member to protect his family. He hopes to keep his two brothers out of the ‘Blood’ by doing everything the gang wants, even though he would love more than anything to be free.

As they are forced to get to know each other, the lives they try to keep so secret are exposed. They fall hard for each other, but with everything standing in between them can their relationship last?

I love so many things about this story: the characters, the romance, the social challenges.

Elkeles wrote a sizzling romance that pulls you in and keeps you turning the page. The characters face real life social conflicts that, in the end, turn them into remarkable people. Alex’s gang experience is very true to life and you feel the difficulty of his situation. Brittany pushes past what her parents want her to be and reaches out to help Alex, in return, she finds out who she really wants to be.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves teenage romance novels.

    "Love conquers"
Would you recommend Perfect Chemistry to your friends? Why or why not?

    Maybe with a new narrator.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Roxanne Hernandez and Blas Kisic ?

Therese Plummer! I have hear her do a mexican accent for a male before and she nailed it. She could of also made you feel what these people were feeling unlike the narrators that this books had. They made the story fall flat and the accent was horrible for the mexicans. It could of been so much better.

    Any additional comments?

This story is a timeless story of love overcoming boundries put upon us from all. The love (chemistry) these two had, had to overcome him being in a gang, and her being the well breed al proper Mrs. White goodie goodie. This book was good but not as good as it could of been with a better narrator and maybe a little extra work on the story line. He had alot of real potential. I have never read any from this Author before but I will be listening to the next one. My curriousity is peeked and I can tell she has talent and I want to see if she gets better.

While I know this is consider as a Young Adult book, I would like to warn you that there are things in here that I would not let anyone under the age of 15 (mature minded 15 mind you) read, due to the nature of certain situations that are in the book.

I cant wait to see what the next installment holds.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I liked the story, but the female narrator was terrible. It was like listening to a middle aged Jan Brady trying to sound like a teenager. UGGHHH!

    "Dating should be fun"

I loved this story. You have the bad boy Alex who belongs to a gang and the beautiful stressed-out blond Brittany, both trying to fight their growing feelings for each other, and not having much luck. There were some real sweet and touching scenes, but not too corny. I thought the narrators did a wonderful job, and Blas Kisic had a very sexy accent, but I did find that he sounded older than 18, well at least that way I didn???t feel like I was robbing the cradle.

    "Romance lover"

I loved this book and wanted to see what Audible was all about. This book went back and forth between 2 protagonist in the story and the narrators did a great job, but if they would have interacted with each other in the chapters it would have been really great. Each narrator changed their voice to match the other protagonist which I did not like.

    "The first and the best"

I love this book. I love the bad boy Alex and Brittney's romance, it goes to show you that you never know who is right for you. I was older when I listen to this (did it to see if it was a good book for a younger cousin) and I felt it was good for a high level high schooler which is what the age of the characters are and above because I've been out of high school for a while and still loved it! It follows true problems, how to be yourself and not what others except of you, the troubles with parents and a disabled sister, also when/who to give "it" to.
I love the two sided narration of the book and how Elkeles wrote it both view points of the characters makes it very enjoyable. Female narrator I didn't like as much which is why I gave the performance a 2 out of 5.

    "Better than I expected"

I'm not sure why I bought this, because I'm not the target audience (I'm in my 50's, but this book is clearly for young adults). That being said, I enjoyed the story quite a bit. The two-narrator presentation was good, although Blas Kisic sounded a little old for the part. The story has some intense scenes that are better for young adults over the age of 16 or 17 - but I also don't think this book would interest kids much younger than that, since it doesn't feature wizards or mythical creatures.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I found the book good but its hard to rate something like this after reading Bryce Courtney or Tolken... entertaining but not riveting.

Would you try another book from Simone Elkeles and/or Roxanne Hernandez and Blas Kisic ?

    Maybe.

Has Perfect Chemistry turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

How could the performance have been better?

I did not like the 2 person narration.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I did not read enough of it to see if it had any redeeming qualities.

    Any additional comments?
