    "A Shot in the Arm for Information and News Addicts"

    Both in the real world and on audible.com, there are precious few programs that deliver information and news in as sophisticated and no-nonsense a format as "The World". "The World" reminds me of CNN or CBS when it was the news and reporting that mattered. Through a cooperative agreement with the BBC, "The World" brings in the experiences of reporters around the world. There are some "stories" (pretty good ones) but mostly hard reporting. "The World" stands in stark relief from the "shock and awe" of today's TV news. Kudos to Lisa Mullins and the rest of the whole wide "The World."
