Don't turn away because this is a kids book. What an awesome story! I absolutely loved it and read it straight through.
Davina Porter is a MASTER at the narration. This is a perfect book to read with your kids AND for those into fantasy. And fans of D. Porter will most definitely not be disappointed.

"Fantastic!"
I have read both Blackbringer and Silksinger and loved them so much that I bought the audiobooks. Davina Porter captures the spirit of Magpie Windwitch and the crows perfectly. Not only is this a wonderful story it is also superbly narrated.

"Davina Porter is my hero"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?The story was very original, but what made this listen sing was the narration by Davina Porter. Maybe I am just in love with Scottish accents, but she was able to give each character a personality and emotion. I can't say enough about this book. Loved it.
What other book might you compare Faeries of Dreamdark to and why?I've never read anything similar.

"A delightful new world"
If you could sum up Faeries of Dreamdark in three words, what would they be?Brave, fierce and loving.
What did you like best about this story?I loved the relationship between Magpie and her Crow Brothers and I thought the dialog was excellent.
Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?She was perfect as every character. I loved her when she was playing one of the Crows.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Yes, but it took two.
Any additional comments?This was my favorite fantasy world since I stepped through the wardrobe into Narnia.

"Hard to listen to"
Would you try another book from Laini Taylor and/or Davina Porter?I love Laini Taylor books and can't help to think that if there was a different narrator, I wouldn't enjoyed this book.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?Different narrator.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?Maybe it was the accent, I couldn't get past it and set the speed to 2x just to get through it

"An amazing story."
Would you listen to Faeries of Dreamdark again? Why?Definitely. The story is meant for a younger audience but it was wonderful to listen to.
What did you like best about this story?The characters and their personalities. They all had their quirks and the narrator did a wonderful job at bringing that out.
What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?Everything!

"Charming piece of fantasy"
This tale beautifully describes a fantasy world of fairies and imps, good and evil.... and even some happily ever after. It even includes the late arrival of humanity and our blindness to the fantastic world. As usual, Davina Porter gives a great performance with pitch perfect accents and voices.

"It was Okay......"
Would you try another book from Laini Taylor and/or Davina Porter?THis is from perspective of someone who LOVES Diana Gabaldon's OUtlander series, and absolutely LOVES what Davina Porter has done with it. So to answer to this is NO.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Faeries of Dreamdark?Can't think of one....
Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?The oldest crow?.... But honestly I am so used to her voice in my head with Outlander, Jamie, Claire that hearing her voice with this narration, did not spark any interest in me.
Could you see Faeries of Dreamdark being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?Yes, I could. Laini Taylor is a very, very talented writer. Have no idea...
Any additional comments?First off, I think Laini Taylor is an excellent writer. I am a Big fan of the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy. I bought this book based on that. And since I KNOW Davina Porter is a phenomenal narrator, thought that I would enjoy story. It is a great story, and I may get the kindle edition, but Davina's voice just could not keep my attention, it was offsetting with this story.
