"Great Read!!!"
As I listened to this book I have only been back from Hawaii a few weeks, also with my oldest friend! What a wonderful way to spend your 40th birthdays! I loved the way Robin wove the Joy of the Lord thru their wonderful experiences! We get grace for the day and an abundant supply of Joy and fun to go along with it.
I hated to come to the end of the book.
Say something about yourself!
"Almost like I was there"
I've never been to Hawaii with my best friend, but this book comes pretty close to making me feel as though I have been. The characters were a riot and very realistic. I liked the plot and the humor, and I loved the beautiful descriptions of everything from the scents of the flowers to the details of the people the ladies met in Hawaii. I actually felt like I got to take a short little vacation each morning as I listened to this story.
Admittedly, some religious fiction strikes me as a little hokey, but Gunn's stories aren't like that at all from what I've read. The messages about God are present in Gunn's stories in the same ways that I experience God in my daily life, in recognizing Him in the things He has made and done and the people He has placed in my life, rather than by the, in my opinion, goofy and overly-dramatized situations that I've read in some Christian fiction novels . I appreciate that Gunn's stories represent this less complicated aspect of our relationship with God.
