Myst/thrillers and ✨fun fantasies✨are my favorites but always open for a good story.
"First time John Farris reader."
This was a pretty good ghost story with a couple of rich characters. A peek at southern culture of ole.
Currently addicted to Joe Ledger and Jonathan Maberry.
"NEXT.........."
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting and the plot progressed well. The reader did a good job with the character voices. It seems that I keep getting books that need a sequel. I want to know what happens next.
"Murder with a supernatural twist!"
I loved the characterization. Farris really captures the South of that era. The racial tension and interaction between the characters was spot on.
I'm not sure I can sum it up in three words... His performance of the dialog was brilliant and he can do that "good old boy" accent wonderfully, but he seemed very monitone during the narration and it took some getting used to at first.
I loved watching the relationship develop between Bobby and Dr. Valjean. Their friendship was bittersweet due to his illness and racial differences.
