"Gripping"
La Plante at her formidable best - credible plot, marvelous dialogue, engaging characters and narration that is nothing short of perfect. I shall listen to the whole series. Bravo.

"clearly understood"
Absolutely wonderful! the narrator is flawless and his characters are clearly audibly defined. I came to care for all of them. I have listend all the way thru to number 3 in this series and have the rest on my list! A wonderful listen and I highly recommend this author as well as this book. Give it a shot, you wont regret it if you are truly a mystery/thriller fan.

"Classic La Plante"
Where does Trial and Retribution rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?This was one of the best. Really enjoyable.
What other book might you compare Trial and Retribution to and why?Different to other books by same author. Still a murder mystery but with a new angle.
Which character – as performed by Christian Rodska – was your favorite?Detective North. Even though she is female and the narrator is male you could still get into the character.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?I felt for all the characters even the murderer when he was eventually revealed. Without giving the story away nearly all the characters had different reactions to the crime and therefore bought a level of humanity to the story.
Any additional comments?Linda La Plante brings real life into her books. All her different series are unique while still having the general crime theme. This the first in the series grabs you and leaves you wanting more.
