"Excellent and touching"
I didn't expect to really enjoy this book---I had ordered it in error! However, once I started listening, I could not stop until the end. I normally like books where there is are characters I can 'like' and 'root for' immediately and that was not the case here. But that turned out to be one of the best parts of this novel....seeing the growth and discovering the reasons behind the personalities. The twist at the end brought not only surprise, but a book I won't forget.
"good read but not the authors best"
This book seemed to drag in places. I like this author and have read most of her stuff. It has a good story line.
"Not Unpleasant"
I kept hoping that this story would reach a striking surprise kind of pinnacle which for me, it never did. It was a nice sort of story, but one that didn't leave me breathless, for sure. It was somewhat worth listening to the end, but it's something that I would not look forward to listening to again.
