"Good job Zondervan."
I have read the Bible several times and have tried many different audio versions. This one is the best that I have found yet. I enjoy listening to books that I know well, on my on my MP3 player, while I am doing other things, as don't have to concentrate on them the whole time and can stay with the story easily. I just listened to over seven hours of the version without a break and enjoyed every minute of it. Very easy listening. Good job Zondervan.
"Yes, this IS the complete KJV Bible!"
The performances are very good, and I enjoy the music and subtle sound effects.
Please note: This is a word-for-word reading of the KJV, made more entertaining by music, sound effects, and different voices for different speakers besides the narrator. If you want a real dramatization of selected stories from the Old and New Testaments, based on the KJV, I recommend Living Scriptures. Their audio programs are expensive and not available here; you have to go to their website (no, I don't work for them).
I don't know what problems may have existed with this title in the past, but both the Old and New Testaments are now included. I downloaded this title on 6-24-12 and imported it into iTunes for syncing to my iPod, which plugs into my car stereo. I spot checked to make sure the whole Bible was there, from Genesis 1 through the very last words of Revelation 22.
Now, you may encounter a problem with the numbering of the parts, depending on the app you're using. There are 11 parts. In iTunes, these showed up as 1, 10, 11, 2, 3, and so on. I fixed this by right-clicking on each part in iTunes, selecting Get Info, and changing the part names to Part 01, Part 02, and so on to Part 11. This caused them to display in the correct order. I also omitted the full title from the part names, making them just Part 01, etc., so that the number of each part would be easy to see on my car stereo display.
"Falsely Advertised"
Pros: Enjoyable Listen. If not for all the "Cons" below, I would have rated this as a total of five stars.
Cons:
1. Advertised as "Complete". It is only Old Testament
2. Advertised as "Dramatized". Technically, it is not advertised. It has background music (no sound affects) - also just has different voices reading the different parts (this in my opinion, does not mean "dramatized").
3. Does not advertise who is doing the different voices (this would be a nice feature)
4. After downloaded, it does not show what book you are listening to, etc. Therefore, if you wanted to listen to a particular book, very difficult to locate the book.
Seems like the people who publish Bible Audio Books would find a way to format it so you can view books, chapters etc, - view what you are listening to.
Other than all the above, I really enjoyed listening to.
"Not complete Bible"
Called audible about this problem that only part of the Old Testament was included in this download. They were very kind and gave me my two credits back. This is a tremendous dramalization of the Bible but disappointed I did not get entire Bible.
"KJV Dramatized Audio Bible"
Excellent. Easy listening. Listen to the ENTIRE Bible from Genesis to Revelation in a few days!! Best tool anyone could own- Audio Bible!!!
"Nice listening"
The music and sound-effects are fairly good and enhance the listening experience. My Muvo listening device
only supports sound quality of 3. I suppose if your device can support a higher sound quality then the sound-effects might be better.
The reading is done by different people to portray the different characters in the bible.
All in all it has helped me and I listened to it for about 4 hours yesterday and it held my interest all that time.
It's a good deal for 2 credits and I would recommend it to people who like the original King James version.
I have heard that other translations of the bible have watered-down the meaning of the words and that the (this) King James version is the best.
"Love this dramatized version"
However, The books are out of sequence and
it downloads to mp3 device the same way. I
can't seem to navigate around the book. It
takes to long and it is frustrating. Other
than that the clarity and speed at which it
is read is awsome!
"PRAISE BE TO GOD!"
AWESOME! A BLESSING FROM GOD. I AM SO EXCITED AND GRATEFUL THAT I FINALLY GOT THIS, AND FOR FREE ON TOP OF IT, NOW I CAN LISTEN TO GOD'S WORD ANYTIME AND ANYWHERE! GLORY BE TO GOD. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM! LOVE IT!
"Not being the Complete Bible"
I have listen to this audio entirely and found that this is the Old Testament and it does not include the New Testamemt.
"Beware!!!! Incomplete book."
The rating given is not so much based on the quality of the book, which appears to be very nice, but on the fact that I received only about 35% of it. Audible claims to working on the issue, they gave me two credits for my trouble, but I haven't heard anything since. I'm still very dissapointed as I was soo looking forward to listening to this.
