But now, the sprawling resort off the coast of Georgia haunts her dreams. Even more haunting are the pictures that someone is sending her - strange close-ups, candid shots, and finally, the most shocking and heartbreaking portrait of all: a photograph of her long-lost mother. . . naked, beautiful, and dead.
Jo realizes that it's time to return to Sanctuary. The island inn, still run by her estranged family, brings back painful memories and the troubled relationships she struggled so hard to escape and forget. But it seems that her stalker can even breach the safety of this tiny island, where everybody knows everybody - or thinks they do. And Sanctuary may be the most dangerous place of all.

"Intriguing"
When Nora Roberts writes a book that scares me it really scares me. This was a very well written interesting book. Good read.
avid reader
"Good book!"
Let's face it, Nora Roberts is a master at this stuff, and even though this is obviously an older novel, it doesn't disappoint. The characters are very well-developed and I fell in love with all of them! There are about 4 different romantic stories going on, but enough time is given to each story so that you feel invested in the characters. I found myself smiling a lot and even chuckling aloud in a couple of places. The mystery aspect was also well-played.
The narrator, however... while she did a great job with character distinction, the voices she chose to represent each character seemed a bit off, particularly with the males. I don't mean to nitpick, but isn't that one of the reasons we choose audio books over hard copies? Anyway, if the narration had been a little better, it would have made a good book great.
"Soooo well written"
A really good book - all along you think you know who it might be, then you are almost convinced but can't believe it to be true, then it twists!
Really great and again a TRUE Nora Roberts book - 3 lives, 3 twists - lovely
Thank you
"Another great book"
The book started out slow while Nora Roberts builds the characters, but once she is done with character building, it was really good.
Lots of twists and turns, with a little romance.
I would recommend this book to anyone.
"Enjoyable read"
This author rarely fails to please and she hasn't done so this time . . interesting storyline
"Interesting once you get into it."
I enjoyed the story line once it got going. For the first several chapters I wondered if I had made a mistake purchasing this book. I thought the narration was good capturing different voices so it was easy to distinguish which character was speaking. The plot line had a nice twist to it.
"Classic NR"
Great book - enjoyable characters - lots of stories and romances to keep you interested. Good NR twists and turns - I enjoyed it but I have to say that I worked out the
'mystery' very early on - as opposed to most of her books which have always surprised and delighted me with the twist at the end. So a little predictable but still a good listen.
"Great on all levals"
Suspense, Humor, Romance
I like when Nora Roberts add Murder Mystery along with humor and romance well rounded book that keeps you listening.
I Love Sandra and have purchased a few of her audio's just because she was the narrator
Nyoka Mullins
"Could not put it down"
Another good one by Nora Roberts, Keep's your interest till the very end. I would recommend it to my friend's.
I love witty, fast-paced books that keep you turning the page.
"Too dark and violent"
I don't mind suspense and brief violence, but the graphic description of a rape just turned me off. I would have rated it a 2 and returned it, but I did that with Carnal Innocence and then didn't have the opportunity to rate it and warn off other listeners. That story was so bad that I had to stop after 6 hours. This story is much better, investing me in the characters enough to tough out finishing it, although I guessed who the murderer was in the first few chapters. I enjoy most of the "In Death" books, so it's not just the murders that bothered me, it was the graphic nature, and describing the rape in sexual terms that has me crossing this one off my "Listen again" list.
