Publisher's Summary

Each story in this popular and critically acclaimed series has been read by the talented actor, Victor Garber. Now fans who can't get enough of the vampire bunny, Bunnicula, will have something new to add to their collection.

Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery
Beware the Hare! Is he or isn't he a vampire? Before it's too late, Harold the dog and Chester the cat must find out the truth about the newest pet in the Monroe household, a suspicious looking bunny with unusual habits...and fangs!

Howliday Inn
Harold and Chester could hardly believe it. The Monroe family was going on vacation without them. Bunnicula, the family rabbit, would be boarded with a neighbor. But they, the family's loyal dog and cat, were to be sent away with strangers; to a place called Chateau Bow-Wow. Chateau Bow-Wow, observed Chester, soon after they arrived, could more properly be called Howliday Inn. Though what was howling, neither of them knew. Chester had his suspicions however; only a werewolf could make that chilling sound.

The Celery Stalks at Midnight
Bunnicula is missing! Chester the cat makes a chilling discovery, Bunnicula the vampire bunny has vanished from his cage in the Monroe household. Everyone knows that vampire victims become vampires themselves, and the neighborhood gardens reveal the ultimate horror: bloodless zombie vegetables! Determined to save Bunnicula's victims and the unsuspecting Monroes, Chester leads the valiant friends on a wild bunny chase.

"I had forgotten how funny these books are!"

These books are fantastic; I think that's well established. The reason why they are essential as audio books, however, is the performance by Victor Garber. He delivers the stories in such an entertaining fashion. I am most impressed by his ability to perform in a variety of voices, while flawlessly expressing the back-and-forth quality required to make dialogues convincing. While the books are brilliantly written in their own right, Garber's performance really brings them out.

    "Howe Wonderful"

The stories are great! A family finds a bunny at the movies - Dracula. The family dog tells you the story of how one rabbit came to change their lives forever. The banter between the cat and dog will crack you up. The entire family will love these books. Who knew a vampire book could be so fun loving.

    I recommend this listen! Enjoy.

    "Well-read, interesting to children!"

My almost 6-year-old grandson loved this audio book so much we purchased the paperback version so he could read along and read to himself. All three books in this audio collection are word for word and read with expression.

The stories captured his interest and imagination and stimulated some "very interesting" conversations around the characters.

    "Wonderful. But Keep In Mind..."

All the praise listed in other reviews is well deserved. This is a wonderful tale that you and your kids will love. BUT keep in mind that the three books are strung together in one long series. There was no way to listen to an individual story for my son without effort to locate the starting point. In hindsight, I'd almost prefer to have the individual audiobooks.

    "Amazing!"
If you could sum up The Bunnicula Collection in three words, what would they be?

    Great Family Fun!

What did you like best about this story?

Characters are delightful, story engaging and filled with non stop laughs.

What does Victor Garber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Victor brings each character to life in such a way that you can't help but smile. Harold and Chester are better than Abbott and Costello as they work a routine.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes- the whole family listened together on a family road trip. It pleased our college freshman just as much as our third grader.

    Any additional comments?

Our children will read this with their children someday!

"Loved it then...love it more now as an audiobook"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Bunnicula Collection to be better than the print version?

Yes. This collection is a completely new experience as an audiobook. The narration was excellent!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harold is the clear favorite (he is, after all, the voice of the stories). The relaxed, contemplative style in which the narrator presented his voice made the audiobook even better than the original - which is going some - I grew up on these books, and read and re-read them for years!

Have you listened to any of Victor Garber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No - this was the first.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't cry - it isn't that sort of series, but I laughed many, many times.

    Any additional comments?

Loved this collection! I listen to it just like I read the books - over and over again!

    "Both my kids love it!"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Bunnicula Collection to be better than the print version?

I remember Bunnicula when I was young and now both my kids, an 8 year old girl and a 5 year old boy, enjoy Bunnicula too. My daughter said "I love that weird story" and told me she was going to turn it back on.

    Any additional comments?

Some mild sound effects would be nice too.

"This & the Geronimo Stilton books - My son's favs"
Would you listen to The Bunnicula Collection again? Why?

My son listens to these books repeatedly. These are his go to sleep books.

What other book might you compare The Bunnicula Collection to and why?

My son's other favorites are the Geronimo Stilton books narrated by Edward Hermann. We found two Geronimo Stilton DVD's and the they are a perfect companion to the audio books - and paper books.I think the adventurous mystery solving, well developed characters and right level of humor make these attractive to my young 10 year old.He was a huge Franklin fan and started watching Scooby Doo, but once we got the Geronimo DVD's poor Scooby got shelved. I find that the GS series is the best of these other shows and is a bit more age appropriate than Scooby.

What about Victor Garber’s performance did you like?

Victor created pictures of Harold and Chester that are compelling and believable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Um - my son never sits still for anything. He does however fall asleep to these and turns it back on first thing in the morning.

    Any additional comments?

    Looking forward to books 4-??

Not only did my sons want to hear this book, they listened to it several times. The whole family enjoyed this series and continued along with the rest of Howe's books with the same enthusiasm.
