England 1558-1603. The filthy genes of the Blackadder dynasty bubble to the surface of history's melting pot as Lord Edmund, arrogant peer-about-town, swaggers with a big head and small beard in search of grace and favour from the stark raving mad Queen Bess.
Listen as Lord Blackadder falls in love with a girl named Bob, takes over the job of executioner whilst almost losing his own head, schemes to raise 1,000 pounds to pay off a perverted Bishop, goes on a far-off sea voyage to the remote country of France, and plays Charades with a member of the Spanish Inquisition.
Accompanied by a small rabble of beruffed riff-raff (bottom-breath Baldrick and pea-brain Percy) the serpentine Lord Blackadder lowers the whole tone of England's Golden Age.
The collection includes the following episodes: "Bells", "Head", "Potato", "Money", "Beer", and "Chains".

"Hilarious as always"
Blackadder has always been one of my favorite TV shows and the audio version is EXCELLENT!! The only thing missing is the TV which is great because I can listen to the shows while I am working. I hope audible will expand on their BBC comedy series because they are very, very funny...if you like British comedy that is.

"Better on screen"
These audio recordings are simply the audio track from the series. I understood this when I downloaded it, so I wasn't disappointed in any way. However, some of the humor is lost by having the audio alone. Five stars for the series, only three for the audio.
"Always Great, but..."
I can't find a thing at fault with Black Adder II itself. It's just as wonderful as it always was. The only thing I would have changed is...If they could have made one file per episode, it would be a lot easier to select which one I want to listen to. (My player doesn't allow for fast forward or rewind.)
"Wonderful Britcom!"
Unlike the first Blackadder series, this Elizabethan one relies on dialogue, wordplay and wit.
I can listen to it over and over again.
"listen again and again"
i had watched this series on public tv and enjopyed them and still enjoy the series on audio
"Fantastic Blackadder II"
SImply the best -blackadder at his witty best!! Works well even on audio format. Highly recommended to liven up any dull journey!!
I honestly write these reviews in a spirit of sharing and helpfulness. I have no idea why I always end up sounding so snotty...
"Adolescent."
I loved this series when I was in High School.
Apparently, I've grown up a lot since then and now it just seems unpleasantly silly. I also don't think it works well as audio. The laugh track is obviously reacting to sight gags which makes a rough go rougher.
