This is the beginning of the dilemma that Arthur, a young San Francisco architect, is faced with when he discovers Lauren in his apartment.
Arthur is the only man who can share Lauren's secret, the only one who can see her, hear her, and talk to her when no one else so much as senses her presence. So when doctors prepare to end Lauren's physical care, which would destroy the magical bond she and Arthur cherish, he must find a way to save her. For, after all, it is only her love that can save him.
A heartwarming love story that's impossible to forget, an adventure that is by turns breathtaking and hilarious, Just Like Heaven is a captivating tale that evokes the essence of romance and our boundless capacity to believe.

"Not Like the Movie"
I downloaded this book before viewing the movie. The two are considerably different. The book is entertaining, and the narrator has an intense voice. This intensity is not necessary, but doesn't detract from the book.
"Just Like Heaven (Unabridged)"
This book is a fantastic read and will keep your attention the whole time. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to see the Move Now.
"Definitely Beach Fare"
This was a pleasant, simple tale. I didn't even really see any controversy related to euthanasia. There was nothing to generate an argument (no less passion) one way or another on that topic. It was a love story based on a fairy tale. Very light listening suited to mindless pleasure.
"Cute, but boring"
I enjoyed the movie, so I decided to try the book. Big mistake ! This audiobook is 5 hours too long, could have been abridged to 31 minutes. Too wordy, keeps going back to the same subject over and over again. Save your credit for something with more substance.
"Disappointed"
I never saw the movie but the book was a little boring. I was kinda of disappointed with the audiobook.
"From Deep Within the Heart..."
...comes such a moving and thought-provoking tale of two people who upon a chance meeting became one. I chuckled and at times tears filled my eyes listening to this audio. I liked the narrator very much and will seek out more of his works.
The excerpt below couldn't describe this book any better!
"A heartwarming love story that's impossible to forget, an adventure that is by turns breathtaking and hilarious, Just Like Heaven is a captivating tale that evokes the essence of romance and our boundless capacity to believe."
"A Pre-Death Experience"
I enjoyed listening to this story. The premise is a very interesting take on one of the saddest medical diagnoses--irreversible coma and "heaven". I liked the perspective from the patient's point of view and many of the descriptions of California. As a visual person, when I read a book, I see the movie in my head--when listening to an audiobook, I hear the language. Levy's writing was a bit too flowery at times to flow as easily as his ideas about pre-death, euthenasia, and love. Good listen for the story, however.
"Heartfelt story"
I just finished listening to the book today. It was hard to put my Ipod down. It's nice to imagine that there's life beyond all this. An experience that will touch your heart and open your mind. A nice story about love, understanding your past and believing in your future. Highly recommended.
"The Movie was Better"
I thought this book was cute, although the characters weren't very believable and there were parts that were rather boring. The pretense was great, but there was no real substance or talent behind the book. I saw the movie after I read the book and there were so many differences, yet I found myself liking the movie more than the book I'd read, which is rare.
"Heaven to listen to"
This was such an easy and enjoyable book to listen to. I enjoyed it very much.
