"Must listen"
If you love freedom and you believe in the individual then you will grow your brain immensely. I have to listen several times it is so good
"Capitalism: The unknown ideal"
Ayn Rand is amazing, I found it hard to believe she was writing in the 60s. It could have been written today. What was true then is even more true today. Should be a must read in college. Whether you agree with her or not, her logic is impeccible. And her defense of Capitalism is first rate and I believe to be true.
"Great Book."
It helps to have a background in the writings of Ayn Rand before you listen to this one. Though written first in 1946 and updated through the mid to late 1960s, most everything she has to say is applicable today. The chapter by Alan Greenspan is priceless. I like the narrator, she really fits the material. Cheers!
"BEST of Ayn Rand!"
I've read almost every word Ayn Rand has ever written, and this is by far her magnus opus (though she would have disagreed). "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal" is not simply a book about economics; Rand covers the rights of man, the nature of government (borrowed from "The Virtue of Selfishness"), and builds a picture of what a moral society would value. From this premise, Rand then discusses the only moral system of economics possible: capitalism. Phenomenal book for conservatives, liberals, and ESPECIALLY, the "moderates". I couldn't recommend this book more!
"Ashame this is not taught in our"
-horrible statist-schools -paid with tax dollars. I recently spoke with a high school economics teacher. This woman had a lesser understanding of how the Federal Reserve works than most lay people I know. Its a sad state of affairs when these are the statist appointed people teaching our future generations. This book is so rational and so true in stating the cause & effect of the last 100 years of the US and its failing economy. Even thought this book is over 40 years old it rings as true, if not more so. We are seeing our country falling into socialism/communism run by statist who want to extort our wealth and redistribute it as they see fit. Every US citizen should read this book. Its about time we start to understand why our country's production and development have slowed to a crawl since 1890. You cannot afford to not listen to this book.
"Great Book. Should be required reading!"
This is one of those books that should be required reading. Regardless of your beliefs, one should at a minimum understand this side of the coin.
"What a mind!"
This book will open your eyes on how we have been made slaves by our corrupt politicians. The material is so current even though it was written decades ago. It is nice to know the full reasoning for why I believe so completely in Capitalism and Freedom. These concepts should be taught in public schools, but I guess it might take away from time wasted on Global warming.
"The title says it all..."
incredibly insightful.
The understanding of private property rights are the foundation of personal and civil rights!
"Simply the truth"
Capitalism is the only economic system that actually works, and this book tells you why.
"Amazingly accurate even today"
This book should be required reading for college students.
