"In the Sweet spot of this Series....."
It was nice to return to familiar territory after slogging through that Bourne book earlier this week. By all definitions, Griffin’s books are my guilty pleasure. I’ve completed the entire Corps series more than a half-dozen times over the last 20 years and honestly, it’s like visiting old friends and favorite relatives, complete with all the quirks (he notoriously changes characters’ middle initials for no reason, even historical figures), inside jokes and catch phrases. Yes, yes I know you can write everything you know about that subject in a matchbook with a grease pencil. Now fully recharged, I can take on something more unfamiliar.....

"Great story - extremely well written and narrated."
Excellent story - classic Griffin, lots of action and wonderfully developed characters. Most notable, Dick Hill is back to do the narration.

"Typical Griffin, outstanding"
Another outstanding book in one of Griffin's best series. Line of Fire grabs the listener almost immediately and portrays the heroism and humanity of great, if fallible characters who we can all relate to very well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the numerous times some of the key characters seem to change middle initials from one book to the next. Probably not noticeable when reading the printed book but as a listener, particularly when listening to the books consecutively, these errors become somewhat glaring!

"Gets Better and Better"
The Corps series is definitely a man-oriented series. The characters are macho, heroic, dedicated, yet sometimes crass and disgusting. They represent the true enigma that makes the military male.
As the son of a WWII veteran who fought the Japanese and the father of a current Marine, I have a definite bias toward these stories. yet I loved them years ago when I read them on paper.
Dick Hill's narration just makes the stories even better.
This book continues the storylines from Guadalcanal and Buka. The book is very well written and makes the reader root for the men and women in harm's way as well as their personal struggles, fears, and desires.
Looking forward to the next books in the series. Mr. Griffin, keep them coming and I will keep buying.0 of 0 people found this review helpful -

"Line of Fire"
Where does Line of Fire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?right at the top. It is another good Book in Griffin's Corps series.
What other book might you compare Line of Fire to and why?All of the Corps series show the dedication Marines have for each other and their well being, Griffin brings that out very well.
Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?Dick Hill is an outstanding and very talented Performer, he is good in all of his readings.
