With his tawny mane, battle-hewn brawn, and ferocious roar, Angus “The Lion” MacDonald is the most fearsome warrior Lady Gwendolen has ever seen - and she is his most glorious conquest. Captured in a surprise attack on her father's castle, Gwendolen is now forced to share her bed with the man who defeated her clan. But, in spite of Angus's overpowering charms, she refuses to surrender her innocence without a fight. With her stunning beauty, bold defiance, and brazen smile, Gwendolen is the most infuriating woman Angus has ever known - and the most intoxicating. Forcing her to become his bride will unite their two clans. But conquering Gwendolen's heart will take all his skills as a lover. Night after night, his touch sets her on fire. Kiss after kiss, his hunger fuels her passion. But, as Gwendolen's body betrays her growing love for Angus, a secret enemy plots to betray them both.
Great Scot! Don't miss our other titles in the Highlander series.

"Again. Get a better Narrator~~~~"
Again, I appreciate all the work an author goes to in writing a book. However; do they bother to listen to their work once the narrator has completed it??!! Audio books is a huge venue for income for these authors! Please, take as diligent time choosing someone to read your book as you do in writing them! I will NOT buy another one of Julianne MacLean's books anywhere on audio if done by Antony Ferguson. And I'm but one person. However; these audio books are review by the customer and I for one pay close attention to what is written before I spend my money. I rather believe others do as well. Just saying~~~~~Pay Attention.

"Good 2nd book in the Highland warrior romance"
Good follow on story - it 's 2 years on and this is the tale of Angus who betrayed his best friend in book 1 and his torment but final redemption thanks to Gaendolene who first fights against him then fights for him. Nice.
I thought the narrator did a good job too.
So, worth the credit? Definitely.
"Excellent listen"
I listened to the first book by Julianne MacLean & enjoyed it. The second book was just as good and I liked how the two books came together. I loved them both!
I've become a sucker for Audible. I love audiobooks, to the point of addiction. Especially a good romance audiobook... :)
"Doesn't get better than this!!!!"
I wish I could give this book 6 stars. It is one of my all-time favorite highlander novels, and I've listened to nearly all of them on audible. From Julie Garwood, Maya Banks, Karen Marie Moning, Monica Mcarty, I've been on a highlander binge lately. This is hands down one of my favorite books.
Full of passion and suspense, this book is extraordinary from the first chapter to the last. The hero and heroine are my favorite couple in recent memory. The ties that bind and the forces that pull them apart are poignant and believable. Better than the first book, Claimed by the Highlander is nearly perfect.
Julianne MacLean is not an author to ignore!!! Excellent narration by Anony Ferguson makes this audiobook a MUST BUY for highlander fans!!!
The whole series is excellent!
"Love this series!"
I have read the other two books in this series and I must say I enjoyed listening to this story the most. I will have to go back and listen to the others.
Addicted to Audible!
"disappointed"
not sure
Not as interesting as book 1
Not likely, very disappointed in this performance.
nothing
It would be better with a different performer.
"I WANT MORE!"
Good story with Good narrator with great accents!
love the highlanders, love the heroes
Yes, always captivating, taking different paths than expected...very enjoyable.
NOTHING WRONG!He did perfect! Wish he did more historical romances! I love hearing a male voice on these and love the accents this narrator did perfectly...just close my eyes and visualize easily, all 3 books!
Thank you for making this series audio!
"love this series"
Love this series, can't wait to listen to the third book. The narrator is good, the accents sometimes seem a little forced, but overall he does a good job even with the female voices. I like the imperfections of the lead characters, especially Angus, and how he overcomes those. And I always like it when the women are strong, even in an era when they had so few rights.
I mostly read paranormal romance books.
"Annoying female characters"
The only reason I gave this 3 stars was because the story line was okay and moved along for the most part. However, by the middle of the book, the mother and the main female character, Gwendolyn, started to get on my nerves. By the end, I couldn't stand either one of them. The mother is shallow and conniving throughout the whole book, but she isn't the "villain."
When the book starts, Gwendolyn is a strong woman who will stand up for what is right. For the rest of the book, she is a wimp. She immediately forgives everyone who screws her over again and again. It gets really annoying!! The only character with any backbone is a minor female villain.
I'm not usually too critical of the performances, but this was not very good. The narrator kept slipping in and out of Scottish and English accents. It wasn't consistent at all.
"Wonderful"
A great listen
the whole book was memorable. I really enjoyed it
Angus and Lachlan were favorites. Lachlan, i would like to watch his character on the screen. Both of them, you will not forget.
Not laugh or cry but interesting that i did not want to quit listening.
i like books that if set in Scotland, the narrator uses the appropriate accent as was done in this book. Really makes you feel you are there.
