What made the experience of listening to The Black Banners the most enjoyable?Getting a different vantage point into historic events that have taken place in our life time.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?NO, besides the fact that it is a long read or listen. it is better to listen to it by chapters and make your own conclusions about the information that is presented.
Any additional comments?there are stories in this book that are eye opening but yet we may never know the complete story. Ali in an interview with NPR mention the content in the book had to be approved.

"Wait until it clears CIA"
This is an excellent story if all of it could be heard. Some chapters are written just like this, "Blank wanted to tell blank that blank said blank." The story, at times, is so edited that hearing "Blank" repeatedly became annoying. Half the time you could understand what "Blank" meant but when you hear "Blank was going to interrogate blank until blank said that blank was not blank." it wasn't so easy. Heads up that the writer says that it could soon be a completely unclassified book and that you may want to wait until then to purchase this one.

"Amazing listen!"
What made the experience of listening to The Black Banners the most enjoyable?This is a fantastic listen.. I must have rewinded atleast 15 times during the course of the listen to stop, then do my own research in YT to understand more, go to google and check for past news clips! Amazing thriller...esply for folks who love terrorism related content

"Worth the Ax Grinding"
Do you have one of those people in your life who is rather arrogant and obnoxious, but who always has the best, most fascinating stories? You tolerate the annoying parts, to hear what will happen next.
That is how I felt about this book. It is obvious that he has many issues with the CIA & EIT's, and I happen to agree with him on these subjects. I'm sure that he really is a very talented interrogator, and single handedly outwitted the most senior of Al-Qaeda operatives. I didn't need to hear about it over and over again however.
It felt like often times these agendas got in the way of telling the story, and it is a very good story. I feel I know a bit more about the "War on Terror" that we are still fighting, and have gotten an glimpse at the on the ground obstacles our agents face.

"Amazing Read"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Black Banners to be better than the print version?Yes, there is no way I could pronounce those names.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Yes very much. I did not want to put it down.
Any additional comments?This book covers 20 years of FBI work and goes into great detail about the actions of the CIA, FBI, and military services. An awesome read. While it does lag in the beginning it was worth it to see how Ali was able to pull from that collection of data to put together the cases.
