Too much of a good thing.
With her long ponytail and sparkling green eyes, Tessa Donovan looks more like the girl next door than a businesswoman - or a heartbreaker. Which may explain why Detective Luke Asher barely notices her when he arrives to investigate a break-in at her family’s brewery. He’s got his own problems - starting with the fact that his partner, Simone, is pregnant and everyone thinks he’s the father.
Tessa has her hands full, too. Her brother’s playboy ways may be threatening the business, and the tension could tear her tight-knit family apart. In fact, the only thing that could unite the Donovan boys is seeing a man come after their "baby" sister. Especially a man like Luke Asher. But Tessa sees past the rumors to the man beneath. He’s not who people think he is - and neither is she.

"I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK BECAUSE"
Victoria Dahl does it again. What i like about this book is the relationship between the charactors and the storyline. This book is part of a 3 book series so if you like this book you will definitly like the other two. Just make sure you listen to them in order.
I tend to get into grooves where everything I read is historical romance, mystery, light romantic comedy, thrillers, or whatever. I used to read (in print) 2 or 3 books at the same time, switching one to the other, depending on mood. But there are medications for that now, LOL.
"good listen"
Funny, light, and sexy.
The other two books in the trilogy. Listen to them in order to better see character developmemt through the books.
Good character differences in vocal tone. I didn't have to wait for the phrase about who said the line. I wasn't distracted from the story, but rather pulled in by the performance.
The characters were great, the storyline believable, and the performance was very easy to listen to.
"!!Good one"
Very funny, sexy, interesting plot and Fortgang has also a nice voice.
I like all books of Victoria Dahl, they are easy to read/listen entertaining Happy End stories that make a lazy day at home fun:)
"If you like whiny adults...."
I couldn't figure out if it was the story, the reader or both but this book fast became very irritating as each main character seemed to be nothing but a whiny brat. (To the reader's credit, I believe she may only have been reacting naturally to the book's juvenile overtone.) The character's act like they are 12, not in their twenties. There might be a decent storyline here, but I couldn't listen to the brats anymore.
"good girls don't...what?"
This was a pretty good book... I would probably read others by this author, but it wasn't fantastic. Don't expect to gain anything from it, it's just a brainless read...which isn't always a bad thing!
The narrator was PERFECT for the story though.
"Horrible."
Superficial story and horrible narration. I respect the effort it must take to write, publish and narrate a story so I think long and hard before giving a poor review. Pass on this one.
"Hilarious and romantic -- fun story!"
Tessa Donovan may be 27, but she is still the innocent little sister to her brothers, who just happen to co-own a family brewery with her. When she develops an interest in Luke Asher, the hot detective who is investigating a break-in at the brewery, and who also happens to be her brother Jamie's friend from college, all kinds of chaos ensues.
This is such a cute and funny story, with laugh out loud parts, along with some pretty steamy and romantic love scenes. Lauren Fortgang gives a great performance as narrator and makes me really look forward to getting to the next two books in the series.
"Great romantic series"
Yes - it was a nice romance novel
Quirky Tessa - she just has the girl next door flair to it, strong and determined
I haven't but I would listen to her books again - great performance
Made me smile but no extreme reactions
Tell us about yourself! I really do know how to spell repetition!
"My favorite of the series so far!"
I would recommend this audiobook to a girlfriend. It a chick audio that is spicy and actually has a good story line.
The chemistry between the main characters.
Tessa, I know someone that is like her!
No, that's the beauty of these books, you want to listen to them but you can put them down when other duties call.
I believe there are 3 elements to a great romance audible book: good narration, believable plot, flawed characters and great dialogue!
"Just Don't"
I could not finish this book, it was a combination of the narrator (too whiny) and the plot. Don't...
