Visions of Heat: Psy-Changeling Series, Book 2

After being an Audible subscriber for more than 2 yrs, I have lots of audio books in my library. 586 to be specific. I've listened to more than 500 and I've gotten really picky about buying a series. Well, this series is definitely a keeper. The characters are strong and the erotic scenes are not as graphic as some authors. I purchased this book on sale but it hooked me enough that I bought book number one (and several others). I have not been disappointed.

The plot of the book was very similar to the first book with regards to the two main characters. There were enough differences to keep it interesting and there was a lot more information given about the psy world. I really liked the way this book fleshed out the world of the psy and the changelings. The two main characters were likable and the differences in them from the couple in the first book were intersting. The knowledge gained in what is going on in this world in general and how it works was really fascinating and the world itself is very layered. The narrator did a good job, though I wouldn't say she's one of my favorites.

Yes, I do believe if you read the book, you'll love it. Listening does not give it justice. The narrator portrays all the woman and men the same. It takes a lot of talent for a story teller to get the male and female voices straight, and this one absolutely does not. I have to backtrack to understand which woman is speaking. And all the males sound the same. I understand that the population of Psi is supposed to have absolutely no feeling but the monotone interpretation seems to run through the story. The narrator is just ok.

I wonder if the other reviews came from the Amazon website because I noticed it kept saying "good read". And this book is probably a good read but it's absolutely a boring listen.

I always enjoy Nalini Singh. This story was pretty easy flowing. Also, narration on this book was matched really well with the characters.

I just started listening to Ms. Singh and WOW! I am impressed. I always get leery when I try a new author, but she is awesome. Just downloaded the Guild Hunter Series, can't wait to read!

Her Future Love

I like that the story flowed smoothly. The love wasn't rushed, there wasn't a lot of sex yet there is passion.

The hero is kind of stalkerish but not in a bad way...LOL...but really he does just breaks into her room...

I would recommend reading the books in order. But alone this is a good book. Well written and the narrator is great.

I liked that Faith had a spine of steel and was willing to risk everything to find answers about her growing abilities. I'm not a fan of how Sascha thinks she knows everything about everyone's needs within the pack. And what would be best for other psy that may becoming into the DarkRiver pack.

I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't they way I thought it wold end but, I'm glad it did end the way it did. It set up a nice platform for other books in the series.

When faith first decided to scale the fence and she showed no fear. She did it and was just fine . It showed inner strength that I don't think she knew she had.

I enjoyed this book, just like the first one. It didn't disappoint. The characters are very likeable, smart, and well developed. I liked Faith and her relationship with Clay.

Her voice is pitch perfect and gives true passion to each character and a depth to the emotion the characters feel you can't quite feel in the books.

This is such a saga. I will definitely read all of the books in the series. The author does a great job of developing the characters and building on the storyline from the previous book.
